Hi,
I wonder if anyone can give me a bit of advise? I need a new Mobile............Old one runs on gas....lol
I fancy the Samsung Galaxy Ace & Carphone Warehouse are offering a 24 month contract withTalkMobile for £7.50 a month! In in the package is 250 mins/5000 txts/500mb data. I am a very light phone/text user, I only use in emergency! I Ebay so would be good to get online out & about!
What I want to know is, Is this a good deal? What are TalkMobile like? Any feedback would be great!
Thanks Debs

My friend uses talk mobile pay as you go and the costs are really low and easy to use. She tops up at carphone warehouse but if you go onto a package, you won't need to and I'd guess the costs would be a bit lower if you use the phone enough. She has found coverage excellent both in UK & Europe. Hope this helps - she says Talk have been good for her and she uses her mobile for talking and texting mainly.0

Thanks for your reply!
As I don't use very often I thought £7.50 per month seemed a good price with a free Gaxaxy Ace! I know that Calls per miin are quite expensive but as there are 250 mins thats more than enough as I only usually use that much a year!

If you dont use the minutes its probaly not a good deal as your paying £180 for it over 2 years.0

Pick one up second hand, or even new, and get an Ovivo sim card for £5. Get 200 minutes, 200 texts and 512 mb internet each month at no cost.0

If you want to retain your existing mobile number then you have to port it over at the time of making the purchase with any Talk Mobile tariff.0

Buy a the phone £125 at Carphone Warehouse on T-Mobile PAYG. Pay £80 for data over 2 years (500MB/month in 6 month lumps) adds up to £205. This doesn't include any calls or texts.
Compared with that £180 for two years at £7.50 a month looks good even with loads of minutes and texts you won't use. This assumes no one off charge for the phone.
It might be worth asking if they can reduce the cost if you take less minutes.
Billmonitor http://www.billmonitor.com/ can't come close to £7.50/month so it looks good to me !0 -
I got the Talkmobile HTC One S mega deal a few weeks ago (free phone, normal cost £430, 200 mins/500texts and all you can eat data) for £16/mth and I've been very impressed with them (rang their CS line twice on the first day and very helpful and quick to answer). They piggy back on the Vodafone network so best check the reception in your area before going ahead. I'm a bit confuzzled about some of the negative responses on here, TBH - this £7.50/mth deal is a bit of a killer one imo (albeit not as killer as my HTC One S deal) -especially considering the £35 quidco/TCB cashback! Works out at £6/mth effectively! So £19 more than buying the phone on its own and the benefit of the cost being spread over 24 months (with 6000 mins, 120,000 texts and 12000mb of data thrown in for good measure!). What's not to like?0

I ordered the same deal via e2save (another branch of Carphone Warehouse) last Thursday and gave them my PAC code (you get this off your current provider to allow you to port across you number).
I went via Quidco and got £30 cashback.
I sold the phone on eBay for £100 after costs.
It makes for a VERY cheap contract! (£2.08 per month). Unless you need more minutes/data I can't see how you can beat it without the hassle of redemption based deals.
As for the process, on Friday my Three sim got cut off at 12:30, the Talkmobile phone and sim arrived 1pm, everything worked. I've been pleased with their signal strength so far.0 -

Its a great deal if your going to use all your allowances etc.
But given that the OP clearly states "I am a very light phone/text user, I only use in emergency" and she only uses 250 minutes a year. It seem reasonable to point out at the time that it might not be what she is looking for.
Not promoting/using that firm who have there own dedicated thread sim only deals anymore then .:D0 -
Thanks for all your replies,
How do I get the PAC number?
