The only thing I would say is in my experience when you phone for a breakdown service its only AA or RAC that are any cop. I've tried all the cheaper ones like Green Flag, Asda etc. They don't have a team of drivers and just use local contractors. I may just be unlucky but every local contractor i've dealt with has screwed me out of money for either an unneccesary repair or a shoddy one!

Still there is no need for rudeness!

I'm with one of the cheap companies - Autonational Rescue. When you phone up, they pass the request on to a local breakdown company. So far, I've only had excellent service on the occasions when I have broken down.

The company I'm with is so much cheaper than the AA or RAC that I bought their highest service level (includes home breakdowns and delivery of the car back to anywhere in the country), and still saved money compared with a lesser package from the AA or RAC.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

On the couple of occasions when I've had to call the AA, they sent local contractors! I think it depens on where you are and how busy they are.

That is disgusting behviour, I would have called back reported the time of the call and the name of the person you spoke to (if you have it) and make a complaint!

Been with Green Flag for years and had about 5 or 6 call-outs. Yes, it's a local contractor but they've always been polite, known what they were doing and fixed the car. I've never been charged for anything. Maybe just luck but I've broken down all over the country. :)
