  • Well that just about says it all doesn't it?!

So the bulk of your ticket price was used to fly you from A to B. Presumably BA met your expectations in this respect?
Any additional premium you paid to sit in WTP should've given you the following extras (taken from ba.com):
    • A separate cabin with up to a maximum of 5 rows.
    • Wider, more comfortable seats with more legroom.
    • Complimentary on board newspaper.
    • Complimentary drinks from the bar (excluding champagne).
    • Priority meal service offering fresh contemporary meals.
    • In-seat power for laptops and individual in-seat telephones.
    • Fares eligible for entry into the British Airways Executive Club.
So you sat in a smaller cabin with wider seats, more legroom, laptop power and a personal telephone - fact.
You were offered a complimentary newspaper - were you?
Complimentary drinks - Wetherspoons don't offer table service and neither do British Airways in the economy cabins. If you want to be spoonfed drinks you need to move even further forward to Club World or First. You mentioned that Virgin do - was that on a daylight flight or did they keep the lights on all night, because as I've said, manoeuvring a heavy drinks trolley through a dark cabin is exceedingly dangerous! Besides, you're strongly advised to stand up regularly during the flight - or didn't you pay attention to the 'Well Being' presentation shortly after take-off?
Priority meal service - this should be mandatory on ALL British Airways longhaul flights. The cabin crew are trained to execute a fixed routine which includes serving the WTP cabin first. You most definitely should've spoken to the Cabin Service Director if this wasn't the case on your flight.
Contemporary meals - quite a subjective description wouldn't you agree? You still haven't told us what time of day you flew, where you were flying to and exactly what it was that you didn't like.

But then as you've already admitted, the facts don't really matter do they? All you want is something for nothing. Well quite frankly that's not MoneySaving - it's pathetic.

My god I'm glad you're not my husband!
  • Incidentally, I hope you don't mind that I've forwarded your last post onto BA's Head Office. Don't be surprised if any subsequent bookings are rejected - it's custom like yours that most companies could do without.

I'm a professional complainer, and simply do not feel anybody should put up with rubbish service or sub standard products. At the last estimate I reckon that we had claimed back/refunded/deducted from about 20,000 pounds. Of the cases filed at court over the last 12 years 16 wins and one draw.

Rubbish services and products - don't put up with it

    A Professional Complainer???

I'm sorry, that sounds a really unhappy way to live.

Maybe litigious USA would be better suited to you.

I've had many, many flights that have been worse than yours. I've had longer waits, more surly staff, ruder check-out clerks, more uncomfortable journeys, hell, i've been dumped in Singapore (as I noted) by myself as a 11/12 year old kid (twice), had emergency landings in 4 airports, experienced very scary go arounds, horrific weather conditions, struck by lightning (in the plane!), flown countless scary planes & hairy landings courtesy of many years in Indonesia, been shouted at by Stewardess for having the impudence to ask for a beer (boycott North-West Airlines btw!), and had my entire belongings lost by Virgin.

But i've always got where I was going to, and safely, so have left each flight with a smile on my face!

I think that finding the positives in life is a better, more contented way to live, and I hope that carries across to the people I know.

And before you label me as a do-gooder, I have (successfully!) sued before (an American Oil Company which was an acheivement) so I do understand that recourse to the legal system is sometimes required. But not because a poxy sandwich didn't live up to my expectations.
  • Wise investor you are clearly a BA employee. Is it standard for posters to be attacked for reporting rubbish service.

As a professional complainer handling complaints against banks building societies and insurance companies we have recovered 3.5 million for members of the public and before someone calls me an ambulance chaser, we are the cheapest company in the UK that offers this service.

If the plumber fixes the leak and walks grease into your carpet I assume you all just shrug your shoulders and pay the bill in full.

    In closing

    I am very happy

Moving to the USA in 3 years time

Lucky I'm not married to wiseinvestor

That's a shame I'm going to be there then. I'll be surrounded by that type of fool over there.

Don't complain ! you MIGHT actually get a response.
  • And here it is :D

As it happens, I'm the one sat at the front with 4 stripes on each shoulder.

My crew work extremely hard under very difficult circumstances to keep over 350 people safe for anything up to 16 hours at a time. Our primary responsibility is to get you from A to B in one piece. If you could see the lengths we go to in order to achieve that I'm confident you'd be only too happy to pay our ticket prices. There are a number of airlines - within Europe and beyond - who I wouldn't fly with because I know how they operate. I'm proud to say that no matter how it looks on the surface, we take the stuff that REALLY matters VERY seriously indeed.

Now in order to keep you occupied during the flight we give you food to eat, beverages to drink, films to watch and magazines to read. If we didn't, we'd have several hundred bored, restless individuals poking each other - or worse still the door handles!

I'm truly sorry you felt we let you down and I'm more than happy to speak to ANY of my passengers about any concerns they may have, as are my 5 cabin supervisors. However, I'm utterly amazed by your brazen attitude toward consumer rights and it would appear I'm not alone.

If you do choose to fly with us again (assuming my colleagues in Head Office decide to accept your booking) then PLEASE address your concerns - to me if necessary - on the day. I might then stand a chance of investigating the matter to find a satisfactory resolution. Unfortunately, your post comes across as though you were actively looking for reasons to complain simply to satisfy your thirst for court action or for financial reward.

Personally I can't wait to get up in the morning to go to work - can you say the same? ;)

    Best Regards,
    WI

Nice response, WiseInvestor! I think people often underestimate just what is involved in getting an aircraft off the ground and from A to B, not to mention the pressure under which air crew work. Keep up the good work, old boy! ;)
  • I change peoples lives by saving their houses, finding their pensions and getting money back lost by fraud. Yep I look forward to the day and my files are full of letters thanking me for the work I do and the thousands of pounds we have donated to charity. Try reading some of the money based boards

But on this board I have been called a fool and told to get out of the country (to the regret of another poster who is also leaving). All I wanted was a phone number because the BA customer service department is rubbish. I don't think I'll bother
