Hi,
Be very careful using this website, as it tends to quote more entitlement to Income Support than is the case in reality! I entered my details on there, and was quoted £148 p/w IS plus CTC of £44 p/w. However, once my claim was processed, I was entitled to £57.45 in IS and £44 in CTC. Apparently IS no longer pays for any children you have, this is covered by CTC. This is what I was told when I queried the amount of IS I'm entitled to. The £57.45 is apparently the maximum amount of IS payable for a single adult, regardless of how many children you have (I have one son).
It may be useful to speak to the CAB and also make an appointment to see a Lone Parent Advisor at your local jobcentre - my advisor was extremely helpful!
Good luck, it's a tough time, but you'll get through it.Housework won't kill you, but why take the chance
