Whinge your way to wifi!!!

I hate BT broadband. It's official.

Ever since the b*ggering thing was installed, it's been cutting put ever few minutes, that is if Ealing sodding council aren't digging up the road and wrecking the cables.

We've had engineers out, we've had about nineteen thousand new microfilters, but alas to no avail.

This morning I got what seemed like a jolly good offer from Sky through the door - phone, broadband, and telly for £15 a month.

So I hopped on the phone to BT, and (after about 45 minutes of waiting to get through), had a rant about the above, and the fact the every time I ring, I get through to some comedian who says they can't understand my accent (Cheshire folks, not the broadest of accents).

The upshot of which is that they are upgrading us free of charge to wireless broadband, and they are getting back to me, re the demands of a free BT vision box!

Huzzah.

Just needed to share that.

... i don't think i would have extended my contract if my broadband was cutting out every few minutes, and BT do not fix the connection...

So they are giving you a wireless router but that won't help with your line cutting out every few minutes.

It's not the line though, as the phone is perfectly fine.... so I am assuming it's the modem, which is pants.

If not, I'll just steal my neighbours!!! (joke!)

I'm not extending the contract, I checked.

    Bloody hell!!!

BT are actually even more stupid than I gave them credit for - They sent my modem to my house number, road, and postcode, but to Kettering, instead of Ealing!!!!

Even with my "accent" it is quite difficult to get those two mixed up!!!

Well, despite everything, the home hub FINALLY got here, and it is a trillion times better than the old modem - faster, no dropping, nothing. I love it!!!

  • I hope you continue to find your home hub works. We have just cancelled our contract with BT as we had 2 home hubs and it was forever droppig out. BT finally allowewd us out of our 18 month contract and have agreed to refund all our rental for the last 5 months and the cost of the home hub. They admitted that they are having problems. I just hope that you haven't jumped out of the frying pan into the fire
