So fed up with car hire sites offering local car hire and when I go to book it they are 15-22 miles away!
Is there a UK car hire that will deliver to our door? Or even to our town, Gainsborough?

Enterprise will pick you up and take you to their depot, and deliver you home again at the end of the rental.
I rented a car from their local branch, which happens to be about 300 metres from my home, and when I returned the manager just couldn't grasp that I didn't want a lift home! He really couldn't get that anyone would want to walk for 2 minutes when there was a lift on offer, despite me pointing out that I would be home before someone was even ready to give me the ride!Je suis Charlie.0 -
Have you looked for local independent car hirers?
I know in my town there is a used car dealer and a Vauxhall main dealer that both hire out cars and vans. Better rates and conditions than the likes of Enterprise etc.0 -
I tried local garages but no go, will try enterprise, thanks.0

have you tried zipcar? they allow you to hire cars at short notice. I was surprised to find a zipcar location just 30 seconds walk away from my house. perfect for occasional driving around the area. £5 an hour fuel included.
great if you want to borrow a car for the occasional shop.
They are very discrete the one near my house has a 2 car bay with the writing on the road saying "car hire scheme" or something.. If you didn't know about zipcar you would not have a clue about it.
Surprised that zipcar havn't pushed the council to allow a lamppot to be erected witha sign advertising their car hire so more local people use the service.0 -

Whipcar is similar - and has more cars.0 -

Your post reads like an advert with zipcar mentioned every other sentence with various other buzzwords in between.

I am just saying how it comes across, the fact that you also claim they are so good you hire cars from them for the fun of it doesn't help either.0

Well, I won't get into any advertising but I have booked with Avis who will deliver and collect. I was going to have the car for 5 days but it is the same price for a week! Class b car, Corsa? Only £104.40! Looks like a good deal to me.0
