Got my rating stars today...

I had a feedback left for excessive postage recently. Actual postage cost £5.42, charge to buyer £5.50!
Now that would just tip me over the edge, threatening anyone and anything around me !!!
I need to kick my butt... alternatively, I'd like to be the one in the middle of the following smiley... :grouphug:

Dont be heart broken guys, I have yet to give out a straight 5 rating, I think the most was 3 5's and 2 4's0

I haven't got my star ratings yet, but the one set I left a seller, I gave 5 for communication, 4 for accuracy of description (it was a very old item described as being in reasonable condtion for its age, where I would have described it as "in desperate need of some TLC"); 4 for speed of dispatch (a few days after I paid via Paypal) and 5 for postage, which actually cost them a little more than they charged me.0

The star thing is mad. I have 4 for communication and dispatch time. I email the buyer to let them know when I am dispatching the item and I put a 'thank you for bidding' note in the parcel. That is in addition to the usual ebay communiations. I also send my parcels the day after the buyer has paid.
Obviously I need to write a sonnet praising the buyer's beauty and send the parcel on a magic unicorn before I can get 5 stars!0 -
The problem that sellers are going to have with this P&P rating system is that buyers don't necessarily want to pay for recorded and special delivery which protects sellers not buyers if they use paypal.
Because of the value of my items I have to use special which I charge £6 for but if I used 2nd class it's £2.50 ish.
Buyers ask if I will send via a cheaper method and I've got to say no unless they will pay via cheque.
Same goes for international I have to whack on the extra for Airsure which again protects me not the buyer.
Depends how this rating system pans out but may have to start offering recorded as well which will protect me from fradulent chargebacks for non receipt but only £32 for items that genuinely go missing.
BTW Anyone else notice the RM website is always soooooooo painfully slooooooow  :whistle:0 -
Don't forget that although the p&p ratings you get might be disappointing, it is a level playing field.
If people are as reticent about leaving 5 stars for p&p as they appear to be (although I've left five for the three transactions I've left feedback for since the system started), buyers are going to be used to seeing less than five stars for p&p so you should not be at a disadvantage.0 -
it makes me laugh to think all ive sold in the past month were items with free P&P and yet I still dont get 5 stars!!

bonkers
i've got my detailed rating today, i've got 5 and then nothing on anything else, maybe cos some idiot has not filled all of them?
weird really, as nearly all my feedback comments mention that i was quick to despatch, i always let the buyer know i have despatched, and i never overcharge on the postage.0
