Cold calling on Panorama tonight

I for one will be watching this. They are a pain in the backside.Sometimes 5 times a day ringing, and they wont take no for an answer. I end up being rude to them..
I asked my daughter to answer the phone one night and tell them I wasn't in,and he was having none of it.. She looked at me with a look of disgust on her face. I took the phone off her to listen, and he was Effing and Jeffing at her...I flipped my lid and called him all the names under the sun..(surprised he didnt report me,but I didnt care).
I think they should be banned altogether. If I want a service I will ring and get my own, Thank you very much?
Report you? To whom and why? 'Hello officer, yes, I made an unsolicited phone call to a house at random, for monetary gain. A young girl answered and said her mum wasn't in. Well, I told her! Then the mother who was in, came on and called me names! Outrageous!'
Hmmm, think someone is well within their rights to tell such a person to go forth and multiply in no uncertain terms.
The guy that was on the program recorded conversing with the 75 yr old man? Scumbag is too mild a term. What kind of evil creature was that?*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
*Could/should/would HAVE please!*

I think the answer is to have fun with these bozos. Either just put phone down straight away, or if you get a cocky or obnoxious one, string them along and take the p. Sorted.*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

I have a virgin landline which I've never used, I don't even know the number and only have it so I can have broadband and tv. I've never once given out this number, yet I receive around 5 calls a day, from who? I know that whoever it is doesn't know my main number so I don't bother answering. It's unplugged often.0

Well I have this and I dont need to answer phone to be bombarded with sales script. Only calls get through are ones usually welcomed
It works but it does cost but is well worth it

Every day thousands of people who are TPS regsitered, ex directory give their consent without even realising. They fail to read the DPA question and don't tick or untick the 'no further contact' box.0

The problem is though when you tell them "No thank you" they just carry on reguardless...
I had a guy ring last week and he was asking if i wanted to save money on gas and electric,I told him no thanks Im tied in at the moment. He said will it be ok for in the future for them to ring to save you money. I told him No,because im hounded by these calls now, giving him permission means I will be getting them for years to come.He became very aggressive and shouting.
They are a pain the A***.0 -
At the moment I'm getting ~ 6 calls a day, all of which give "we cannot return the call " messages on 1471 - also automated calls on the answerphone for supposed? Govt grants for loft/cavity wall insulation!
The one call I did answer yesterday was a citizen of Mumbai called "Frank" who said "I'm not selling anything...just need to ask who supplies your electricity and gas?" - told him I was a New Age traveller and it was whoever I could steal it from!!..he hung up.0 -
The fact that none of these companies has ever been prosecuted explains why they continue to operate, and our efforts at reporting them to the TPS has been a complete waste of time.0

Companies ignore TPS? next week, Panorama reveals that people ignore "No Cold Calling" signs!! shock horror.0
