Paypal have upgraded their service and you can now transfer money from your Paypal account into your bank account free in around 2 hours. It even works "out of hours" and on weekends.
Excellent!

It was announced back in May that it would be coming in 'some time after July', so given past track record, don't get too excited yet! I posted something about it on this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3952001.0

And no charge for the speediness?Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

for some unknown reason, its absolutely free0

This must be a very new service because I requested a withdrawal last Wednesday and only received it today.0

They are obviously rolling this out very slowly - because i dont have a speedy payments option in my paypal account - the only options i have are the standard 2-3 day withdrawal (free) and the slightly faster 1-2 day withdrawal (for which there is a £5.00 fee) - no 1-2hr option for me
I can't wait until this is standard because the transfer time for money is one of the most annoying things with paypal.... 0
