Algarve resort accomodation ideas

Hi

I have booked flights for eight nights in September with a budget airline to Faro for myself and OH. We have went to Algarve a few times now been to Villamora and Alvor. Really enjoy Alvor, just wondering what other resort people would recommend, have done an evening in Albuferia and not sure about it found it very touristy. Any ideas, we do not usually hire a car so need something central do not mind walking but not miles. We like modern probably at least four star accomodation, probably with a pool.

Some say the further west you go from the airport the quieter and less touristy it gets. What time is your return flight from FAO?

Not sure if have ever been in Lagos wonder did we ever go there for the day. Is Lagos a town? Is there enough to do without being mad??

Yes, Lagos is a town. Lovely beach, great restaurants and plenty to do
without it being a disco and drunks type of town.

Think nice atmosphere about the place, not too busy, nice restaurants, boat trips, just enough pubs, restaurants without being crazy. No one torturing you to come into restaurnts. We stayed about km walk to centre of resort, accomodation had self catering living area with seperate bedroom. Hard to put into words.

How long is transfer from Faro to Lagos?

I too would recommend Lagos. The transfer from Faro is about an hour and a half away but the western Algarve is definitely worth it as there's more to do and beautiful beaches too.

I can further recommend taking the dolphin watching tour. We went with "Days of Adventure" and it was well worth it with a good tour of the coast as well.
