    Same here :rotfl:.

I'd second most of those and add:
    • when she knows the price of tinned tomatoes in 3 different supermarkets
    • when she meal plans and makes little 'food parcels' for the freezer
    • when she gets shoes & boots reheeled rather than buy new ones (and takes them back when they don't last enough!)
    • when she has savings pots for everything
    • when she makes her own popcorn
    • when she decides to book a trip to Peru this year rather than next year because the tour she wants to do is on BOGOF :rotfl:.
    • when she can tell you when her 0% ccard runs out, how much she owes everyone and when it will all be paid off (ok, so there is still some work in progress )
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

when DD aged 6 asks if we can make fish fingers for tea as A*** has fresh fillets on offer and we have all the other ingredients already and goes on to tell her nanna exactly how to make them and how much nicer they are than the ones in a box :j

when both DD's (6 and 4) prefer homemade anything over daddy's idea of a takeaway.

Your DD's friend comes to tea then greets his mum at the door by shouting "Mum, DD's Mum made chips from potatoes!!!" and DD is puzzled - who doesn't make chips from potatoes, it's alchemy!

They are called mummy chips in our house. They have to be flat thinnish rounds though.

We also have granny toast, bloomer bread toasted with real butter. My gran used to make it for me in the 60s now I make it when my grand kids stay over. :)

My DGS all give me any road-kill pennies they find on the way home from school to go into Granny's holiday ice cream tin.
Its suprising how many kids throw them away when they come out of a sweetshop
DGS Jack (12) only said yesterday how a pal of his had chucked a 20p piece away, and Jack retrieved it and bought an Icepole with it .Well done Jack, he will go far that boy. Both my DDs were brought up to look after their cash my eldest is very good with money, the youngest has started to be a lot better as although both her and her OH work full-time four growing boys cost a lot of money to keep.:):)

I work in a school and generally find a fivers worth of copper every half term. The kids laughed at me till I told them how much I find. Now I see some of them picking up coins when nobody's looking.

... when your daughters "What I did during the school holidays essay" features skip diving, jam making, manure collection and the creation of kites from carrier bags and twigs.

... when their idea of a chinese take out is to buy whoopsied bags of pre-prepared chinese veg and fresh noodles at the supermarket and use sauce in a jar rather than making the sauce and chopping the veg.

.... when they haggle in the charity shop and at the car boot sale

My son is 32 but I was proud when he cooked us a meal of pasta in tomato sauce. I complimented him on the sauce and he said 'to be honest mum, I just fished all the veg out of the fridge that was a bit past it's best, cooked and then blended it'. A real chip off thee old block. :)
