Your 21 year old DS moving into 1st flat after student accomodation discovers loads of bits left by previous tenant (including a george forman grill) and is over the moon. Agent did say they were definitely not landlords and to chuck it all out!0

My DGS all give me any road-kill pennies they find on the way home from school to go into Granny's holiday ice cream tin.
Its suprising how many kids throw them away when they come out of a sweetshop
DGS Jack (12) only said yesterday how a pal of his had chucked a 20p piece away, and Jack retrieved it and bought an Icepole with it .Well done Jack, he will go far that boy. Both my DDs were brought up to look after their cash my eldest is very good with money, the youngest has started to be a lot better as although both her and her OH work full-time four growing boys cost a lot of money to keep.:):)0 -
When your 7 year old remarks while tucking into her pudding and custard "Mam, my friends don't get pudding at home you know. Can I make a desert sometime, I want to cook like you." I was proud as punch . She's going to make a cheesecake very soon and smallest is destined for flapjack making. OS life is tough but it's full of rewards.0

You give 16 year old daughter money to buy a pasta salad for school lunch, when going out the next day asking if she has enough money, yeah, pasta salad was reduced as it had to be eaten that day so i brought that one xx0

...when your uni daughter tells you, in the most incredulous tones, that her flat sharers have never heard of rhubarb, don't know what on earth bread/butter pudding is, throw up at just the thought of liver, think lentils, chick peas etc are a staple of and testament to the 3rd world and that only the intellectually challenged cook from scratch because they haven't the wit or the money to go to the supermarket to buy ready-made!0
