BISCIT go into administration

My combined homephone and broadband ISP BISCIT went into administration last week.
I have already lost the ability to make outgoing calls on my landline although I can receive calls. My broadband is still working...for now!
BISCIT are giving out no information at all. Their status page is blank, emails are not replied and I spent a total of 2 hours on hold with them over the weekend (on my mobile...cost me over £10 of credit) without getting through.
I am going to try and get hold of them again today and I will post back with the result but I do not hold out much hope of getting through. This means I will not be able to get a MAC Code to switch suppliers. There is a rumour on the net that BT will issue MAC Codes to users who have been stranded as a result of BISCITs collapse. I will try and confirm this today if necessary.

If you're a biscit customer for ADSL then contact 0800 169 9576 & BT Wholesale can arrange a MAC for the service0

I spoke too soon when I said my broadband was still working. It was gone by 10.30am!
I can confirm that BT is issuing MAC Codes on behalf of BISCIT so the number Mark has given..0800 169 9576 ...does do the trick. BT originally tried to say I would have to wait 2 weeks for landline to be transferred but after a bit of ear-bashing they are supposed to be doing it today...0 -
The only thing that Wholesale number will be able to assist on is ADSL connections. They cannot deal with any queries relating to landlines, SDSL or ISDN etc0

Well BT have been unable to reinstate my landline promptly even though Biscit have gone out of business. There is a law that states there must be a 10 working day wait to change providers and this applies even though Biscit are kaput. So I am without a landline or broadband until 3rd April and am relying on a mobile only. We have a four year old boy and a two year old girl and twins due at the end of June. And builders starting in 3 weeks. And I work away from home. But enough whinging....there must be many other Biscit customers in the same position not to mention any small businesses who must really be suffering after being cut off.
At least BT are unlikely to go bust....:-)0
