You come over the brow of a hill at 30mph driving a car on a wet road with the national speed limit in force. You are instantaneously blinded by a low sun.

The highway code allows you 75 feet to stop at that speed on a dry road. You are saying in that distance you are wilfully driving yet the reference book that would be referred to says you can't stop.

Is that below the standard expected of a competent driver?

low sun was already in place
the (professional?) driver was aware of this
like most drivers, I assume. I use sun glasses and sun visors in such conditions
I also use that big brake pedal in situations where my vision is impaired

See #416, some of us don't jump in with both feet.

Read what I posted I said car driver and pressing the big brake pedal in your auto takes 75 feet.

except where did you pluck the hill from
That's not from the case is it?
So are we not creating a scenario or discussing the case?

Have a look at the big straight road
go miles either side of the garden centre

I asked you a simple question about careless/dangerous driving. You know trying to get a baseline with you.

The example I used your half the speed for the road and a prosecution would rely on a reference book that says you cant stop.

You are wilfully driving but can't stop so is it still wilful?

if you are approaching a blind crest then you should be slowing down anyway to ensure the road is clear.
So back to the case. We have a big miles long straight A road.
On the sections I looked at,it also had a chevroned central section.
So do you feel the driver was a victim of circumstance and there was no dangerous or carelss driving. So two people died through no fault?
