in Credit cards
I recently paid my credit card using the Halifax faster payment service. When I had made the payment it said not completed or something similar so i tried again. Same response not completed. However, later when I checked my current account two lots of payments had went to my credit card provider. I called Halifax and mentioned this and they apologised and refunded one of the payments. No problem there everything ok, however my credit card has still showed the two payments this was on the 11th of this month. I was presuming that Halifax would recall the payment and my credit card would then have the amount deducted. Has anyone else had this problem?? I'm hoping that Halifax cannot claim this back and I have in fact got a little Xtra help from Halifax. (£876 too) Thanks people any advice greatly appreciated. Watchy.

It would be advisable to contact the CC company and explain what has happened; at some point their system will reconcile the transactions and you will find that you owe them £876 and knowing sods law it will be at a time when you cannot afford to pay it back.0

Can they do that though? Must surely have to be done in a certain time. As it was Halifax's mistake maybe they cannot recall the money if it had already been processed by the CC provider. I'm hoping so....get a little back from the sharks eh ha ha0

yes they can - they have 6 years in which to reclaim the money.0

You would be on here berating the big bad banks had stolen money from you.0 -
Would I? You don't know me so how can you make such an assumption. Having said that looking at the badge on your profile I can probably guess why. Yes banks are all institutions of morality aren't they. Merchant banker.0

You asked could they ask for the money back 100% they can and will.
You then went off on a tangent bank bashing which is of no use to you here.
The error here is in your favour and will be sorted out shortly without you having to do a thing. However if you choose to spend the money then you will be in trouble and will incur charges.
By the way you are not intrigued - just plain arrogant and rude.0 -
Just be aware that overpaying insurance premiums/creditcards/etc and asking for a refund can attract fraud investigations.
That said they should be able to send the money back in good faith.0 -

You could have worded your post as follows -: "Hello, I'd like to steal £876 from the bank, could you help me to do so?".
