*The principles of PADding*

Emily Hallett started a fantastic thread called 'a payment a day' which you can find here:

Thread 1

The thread was a huge success and was continued in 'A Payment a Day Parts 2-12'. Those threads can be found here:

Thread 2 Thread 3 Thread 4 Thread 5 Thread 6 Thread 7 Thread 8 Thread 9 Thread 10 Thread 11

The thread is extremely supportive and friendly, with lots of madness and smileys to boot! It is ever increasing, which is why the 2012 challenge is continuing on a brand new thread.

The principle of the idea is that you pay any extra money you have against a debt to clear it a little bit quicker. Not everyone makes a daily payment, but instead they save money to make a lump sum at the end of the month. You can do it anyway you want to, but join the thread and let us know how you are getting on.

Some PaD-ers have cleared their debts and are now focusing on saving following the same principal, so they still post on the thread. Anyone is welcome to join in at anytime.

Best wishes to everyone

*The numbers*

To show how well we all do, the collective amount paid to each debt, per month, will be logged here. Look how amazing the totals are

In 2011 the People of PAD repaid towards their debts/savings a massive:

:T:j:T£440,536.74 :T:j:T

2012 Totals:
January: £51,890.82
February: £27,651.56
March: £41,266.31
April: £27,687.84
May: £42,887.71
June: £20,614.17
July: £28,746.67
August: £27,587.66
September: £35,405.19
October: £27,388.81
November: £15,091.02
December: £27, 077.95

:T:T:T Making a whopping £373,295.71 in 2012 :T:T:T

*The Rules*
1) To assist the monthly 'counter-upper' please post your PaD in Bold, colour, large, or all three
2) Once you join, you cannot leave ;)

Hey everyone, welcome to our new home for the second half of 2012 :hello:

A million thanks to flying_fresian for the upkeep of the last thread. I'll update this one with June's total when Erme has totted it all up on Monday and the counter-upper reins will be handed over to LondonAndy.

Oh, and can someone PM me (or publicly embarrass me) on how to link previous threads to this one. For example, in the above post I want to link threads 1 to 12 but can't work out how :o

Guess that's me down for baking :j

Loving the smilies Andy...where did you find 'em?

Anyhow bad stomach this am (you do not want the details) so PJ day today I think. Don't even know if I will make the FP's (free presbyterian's - very strict) tonight :()....

And now someone has gone and used my current account card fraudulently. So far S* seem to have been quite good and it's only£20 (that's all that was in there and I have no overdraft on that account :A) but still...that was supposed to go on a standing order tomorrow. The bank say they'll put it back in my account (they'd better!!!) but still.....Only have one mobile. Never use any other mobile phone companies? I mean why would I?

Praise God I checked online banking this am :) otherwise wouldn't have spotted it so soon and I'd have had a OD charge :(
