is it right that some people spend their benefits on weed? Those types give all benefit claimants a bad name.
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

If weed stopped my pain, yes, I would buy it.
in work benefits are one thing, means tested ones are another,

With in work benefits, they are also working and are entitled to a choice in how they spend the money.

Those that live on means tested benefits don't provide for themselves therefore the government/LA should have more control over what they spend the taxpayers money on.

They should only have a choice on the money they earned. In work benefits are still handouts as the person claiming doesn't earn enough to support themselves.

In work benefits are also means tested in a way because if your income is above the threshold you cannot receive them.
How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.

I don't know why people deplore Jeremy Kyle - he at least tells people to get off their !!!!!! and find a job. Isn't that what we want to happen? Those people would still exist if he wasn't on the telly, we'd just be blissfully unaware ... out of sight, out of mind sort of thing ...

He used to do a talk/problem show on radio and was actually very good at it.
He also ran a blind marriage competition on his radio show where the listeners voted for the perfect couple and despite never meeting, they got married. Oh I forgot to mention, the marriage only lasted a few months after it was claimed that the groom had cheated and the bride ended up marrying Kyle. Strange but true. And I can't stand the guy personally.

    Apologies for thread derail.

    - this is how the Aussies now pay their [Social Security] benefits
So.... can't pay my electricity bill, my gas bill, my internet bill - what I use to to do my job! - my rent, my insurance, my telephone bill, my TV license, my car tax, and - unless I use a company store - my food bill.

it doesnt say you cant use it for gas electric, tv licence etc. you can pay all those at a paypoint store which i assume would take these cards. it does read that not all the money is paid onto them, just some.

as someone who recieves irb i would have no problem getting part paid via one of these cards. i dont buy anything on the disallowed list anyway. currently my gas/electric and water get paid by the dwp out my benefit before i get the rest , it saves me a job and means i cant accidently spend money thats needed for those.
