someone asked earlier about pontins brean sands we went couple years ago and sorry but accomodation was dirty and entertainment rubbish, there is a theme park close by and beach is nice, ive heard they had refurbished some of pontins so would interesting to know what it is like now?

We went in May and were concerned about the reviews, but they have done a lot of work there, it's not perfect but it's getting there, they're putting double glazing in all the appartments and giving them a general cleanup, ours had all new appliances in it (most of it looked like it had never been used). Don't get me wrong, it wasn't pristine, but it was much better than the reviews and they were still doing a lot of work whilst we were there.

Thank you for your generous help kind people on here!

I booked about 11pm last night but couldn't get any of my first four choices - I really wanted mon-fri during Oct half term at a NorthWest Haven site. Couldn't get Cala Gran/Marten Mere/Lakeland or Presthaven Sands.

My next choice was either go further away (more petrol expense) or stay for only 3 nights (not such a bargain). I opted for 3 nights at Cala Gran Fleetwood 19th Oct, at the start of half term. I really didn't fancy a 4 hour drive just for a short break, and I know the kids will love to go see the blackpool illuminations and so on. I'm happy enough, but I've never once got the one I really wanted... try harder next time! Or maybe I'll try to get a second code so I can book 2 consecutive hols and make a week of it.

Can anyone answer this?...I'm going with 2 teenage girls and a boy and we really need 3 bedrooms even though there's only 4 of us. What are the chances we'll be given a 3-bed van?

    Have fun holidays everyone:)

Blimey that was a panicky one!!!

Finally got October 29th half term booked for Southview Leisure Park in Skegness with Parc Resorts....never been before as we usually do Parkdeans in Devon or Cornwall.....but wanted somewhere a bit closer this time as it takes us forever to drive down the M6 and M5 from the North West these days....

    Anyhow.... lol.....

Anyone been to Southview Skegness - sounds lovely from the tripadvisor but would prefer any expert reviews from my fellow MSers :)
we went in march this year to southview the park is lovely clean staff was ok the club a little small but theres a really nice pub just outside the park to the left theres a tesco and a morrisons only a couple of mins drive from there too out the park left and right at the lights cheaper than the site shop
