New Vodafone Data Roaming - Rip Off?

New EU regs designed to reduce European roaming charges come into force 1st July.
On Vodafone I have been on a package whereby for £10 a month I got up to 25MB (midnight to midnight, UK time) per day - potentially about 1.3p/MB
My provider, Vodafone texted me a few days ago about their new roaming price plan, starting July1st, which replaces the previous plan with a flat 69.6p a MB
How is this reducing roaming charges - other than making people like me not use the service, of course?

this might not be good for you but for most people its better ,
there's one today about a big data roaming bill https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4045319
how much do you think this one would be under the new price
and your plan still would not have covered it and there might be more data to come for her,

so yes i agree its bad for you but for accidental usage it is an improvement, not a great one at that
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

Vodafone's previous £10/month data roaming deal was the main reason I would consider moving from Orange to Vodafone. Now that Vodafone have abolished it, there's no way I would move to Vodafone. £3/day is the same as what Orange charge, which is unreasonably high.

Ah but it's better because the EU has "regualted" the market to make it fairer...

Even at the new regulated maximum charge of €700+VAT per gigabyte, data roaming is still a rip-off. The EU should have set a more reasonable cap of €70/GB, which would still allow a profit margin of several hundred percent.

Just realised I'd missed the decimal point off my original post - makes the new rate 10x worse than originally thought - 69p tomorrow verses 0.13p previous potentially.
Was the only reason I went to Vodafone as I'm in Europe a lot and want to check emails daily.

Another point is that PAYG customers still benefit from the previous £2/day charge whereas contract customers now have to pay £3/day (albeit with more benefits included).
