FS and IM - (((((hugs))))) for your DDs
Glad those who went to prom had a good time! I saw some girls all dressed up here this week for theirs, looked so pretty (if over the top! my prom dress was from etam :rotfl:did my own hair/makeup etc)
Good decision not to put WM, showers have arrived! I'm off to the big town to meet the girls for lunch

Hi all
I have a lot to get through this weekend so I'm hoping to motivate myself by listing things on here as I do them.
4th load of washing on the line, been shopping & only bought mushrooms, eggs & mini wraps, HM cottage pie x 3 made for hubby's ready meals next week, HM chicken & mushroom pies are next. HM chow mein for tea tonight, ironing done as there was only a small amount & next weeks clothes are hanging in the wardrobes. Next I need to buff up the spare room ready for prospective lodger/student & blitz the bathroom & toilets. Tea towels & dish cloths are soaking in weak bleach solution, this will be used to wash kithen floor later.
I'll be back, lol.
Hugs Hester

((hugs)) to all in need, lizzie i hope you can replace everything cheaply
hester i think i will pinch some of your ideas for HM ready meals. though our freezer is bulging with meat and fish so we'll have to do some freezer munching before there's space.
IM hope your DD is okay, it's a stressful time year 11.
My school didn't have a prom, I didn't realise they were so common.
Afternoon all. Had a brilliant time last night with the "family" that aren't actually related and we're all off out again today. The money from ebay is trickling into my paypal account to be saved and I am changing my non-food budgets. I'm going to have a go at making a skirt for work today :jLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

It's all gone totally to hell in a handbasket this weekend - cue the Wolf [STRIKE]running[/STRIKE] hobbling around like the proverbial blue-a$$ed fly.:(
It started yesterday - Mr LW was supposed to get some shopping in his lunch break (including milk and sunflower margarine, both of which we were nearly out of) but he didn't actually get a lunch break.:( Something went "ping" in some of the computer systems, and though he managed to eat the contents of his lunch box, he had to work through lunch, and was also late finishing.
So... we had to shop today.
But.... he's on 24 Hour On Call all this week, which also means doing the early morning checks over the weekend. Something else has gone "ping", so he was still faffing about at 10:10 (having started at 06:00).
He was told by his boss to stop and recommence after 12:00 to give the boss chance to do something-or-other first, so we decided to start on the errands I'd got listed for Monday in town (he's on Earlies, and though On Call, he just has to have his phone with him and be able to be at the computer within an hour of getting a call).
So he went and did the F&V run while I got myself fit to be sen in public, and we started on the rest of the errands.
Went to the surgery to pick up my prescription - they'd got one of the items wrong (prescribed Oramorph which I take for breakthrough pain when they should have prescribed the sustained-release morphine I take twice daily) So I have to go back Monday when hopefully they'll have a new prescription for me. Meantime, I can use the Oramorph, I just won't need to order it next time, so that and the other 4 items needed getting from S/drug.
S/drug didn't have any Plaquenil, and can't get any. (!!!!!!? I've been having it from there for the last 9 years). So had to go elsewhere for that. Luckily B00ts had some. S/drug also owe me some Moclobemide as they didn't have enough in stock, but that'll be there by Monday.
Managed a couple more errands - banked my cheque for looking after Sidny, got the urgent supplies in Mr W, plus a few more non-urgent bits - and Mr LW very slickly conned me into buying his newspaper for him.
We're back home now; I still have some things to get in town, and Mr LW still needs a haircut, but all those can wait til Monday - it was 12:40 by the time we got back as it was, and we felt he ought to be back on the work problems, as it was after noon.
In between all that, the washing had been in and out twice (currently out, and hopefully nearly dry), and I'm behind with the normal Saturday tasks.
And the grass needs cutting - I was going to attempt the back yesterday, but Mr LW forbade it in case I hurt myself when he wasn't here to help me. I may give it a go in a bit - he's at home at least, for if I get in difficulties, but I don't see him getting off the work laptop any time soon.:(
Apologies for the long post - as many of you know, it's sort of therapeutic to put it all down on here.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all
Hope everything gets sorted LW.
Fridge cleaned, hob cleaned, spare room buffed, fish tank tidied, they are untidy fish, leaving crumbs & newspapers around, lol.
Off to get the dry washing in before it rains & do a bit more ironing.
Hester

Or in my case Morten Harket:rotfl:
H is off out tonight with his dad and bro so just me and the kids, so in my head I am planning a cuddly evening on the sofa with the kiddies watching a DVD. What's the betting that won't happen LOL
Pizza dough in BM as I speak, have baked a Victoria sponge which is cooling so I have treated myself to some whipping cream to sandwich it together with the jam (don't like fruit so jam it is).
Fingers crossed my expectations for a nice wee family night in come to fruition
LW hope the rest of your weekend goes a heck of a lot more smoothly xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I'm sitting here with a computer that's on a go slow. I click on something then do a bit of ironing and come back to see if anything's moved. Also waiting to put a loaf in the oven when it has risen a bit more. we're out tonight at some church do that I could well do without. This morning I did the shopping, came back and collated and stapled all the magazines, made lunch, sorted out puddings for tomorrow, remembered a step-grandson's birthday and rushed up to the Post Office with a card, made bread and am now having a little break, interspered with ironing. I used to look forward to weekends when I was working! I was probably better organised in those days.
Islandmaid: I can only tell you what my doctor told me when I went to him in despair over my DS1's behaviour. He said "Don't worry. They all sort themselves out by the time they're 40." Now you are allowed to do what I did and screech, "I can't wait that long." I would guess that she is going through a phase where she hates everyone and herself most of all. It might be nearly 60 years ago but I remember it well.
LW: Your meds must be a complete nightmare and take up most of your time organising them. I'm sending lots of sympathy across the air waves - which is not much use to you but the best I can do.
Right, I'm off downstairs to put bread in oven and then get ready to go out. I've put some cheese scones out to thaw so might manage to swallow one of those before we go.
See you all on Monday. Enjoy the 'day of rest.' (Hollow laughter.)I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening all,
Sunny here to-day between the very heavy showers....DS2 home for weekend and took OH and I out to lunch to-day in our favourite Italian restaurant....very enjoyable and nobody has felt hungry since!
Enjoyed my evening out last night....small crowd which must be sooo disappointing for all the people on the committee which organises these events...its lovely to chat to people I only see once or twice a year, I even met people last night I had never met before....I feel sorry for OH that he won't go to things, I would be very lonely if I never met people.....
Have been picking gooseberries this evening between the showers, wonderful crop this year, raspberries, loganberries, tayberries and currants are all starting to ripen too, must make an effort before I go away as otherwise they will go bad....luckily DD4 has space in her freezer, she may be surprised to find it full of fruit when she comes back, as I want to 'scalp' the rhubarb as well!
OH bought me a new pair of fittflops to-day....have had the last ones for 2 years and have worn them practically non-stop, am going to try knitting socks that I can wear them with and then I won't need to have anything else for winter!
Hester....are you thinking of getting another lodger?? If so I hope that you are careful to lay down the ground rules at the beginning and not have it costing you money as it did the last time....can't remember her name but remember being agog to see what she would get up to next.
Bran DD4's dog is making frequent trips around the back of house to see that I am still here, he wants to come in but knows that there is no point in thinking about it yet.
Hugs to all who are in need of one or more, stay safe and sleep well.
