Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 30th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Yes I have been to bed
, it just doesn't feel like it , leaving here in an hour for the airport, thanks for all the good wishes, we are so excited, especially after not knowing if I was really going till lunchtime yesterday :j
No OS at all today, apart from putting leftover milk and bread in the freezer, to make sure it does not go off.
Have good weeks all, and be good
xx

Good Morning all well i have been to bed and just got up as a collared dove was making a racket on my roof,I think its trying to atract a lady friend ,blooming noisey little blighter at 5.00 in the morning though :)I wish it would do its courting at a sensible time
Well its dry and looks as though its going to brighten up which is good as the boys have their School fete this morning, I shall be baking as their Mum has this weekend off so she will take them.
Just done my end og the month figures and have managed to save an extra 322.20 to go into the holiday fund from my food purse ,so using up stuff from my stocks/freezer is saving me some cash.
This morning I am making a victoria sponge for my DGS Jack as its his favourite and I know they will stop by after the fete for a cold drink and some cake as the school is only across the road from my house.I will also make a little quiche as I have some wholewheat pastry left in the freezer left over from a couple of weeks ago and there's enough ther to make a small one.I always make extra pastry and freeze the surplus for later .Tomorrow I think we are going down to Mersea Island in Essex for a drive .I used to live there back in the 1960s before I had my children and I'd always promised the boys I'd show them Mersea and the beach (what there is of it 0 and the boats. So if the weather is ok thats our plan for tomorrow.
Right time I had some coffee and got a wriggle on
Have a smashing day whatever you are doing and I hope the sun shines down on you .I was watching the storm damage in the north on t.v. last night it must have been very frightening for the floods to arrive so quickly.Very strange weather we are having this year very topsyturvy.
Take care all

Have a lovely time RR, DD I hope you've gone to bed now.
WM is on DW just finished, hubby still snoozing away, I shall leave him to sleep, he's had a hard week & it won't get any better 'til August/September. He has a temp working with him who doesn't want to work, deep joy all round.
Time I fed the fish.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

It's lovely and sunny here. Debating whether to put load in WM, weather forecast says showers so may wait til tomorrow. No plans for the day yet.
OS wise - quick hoover needed, not much else. No idea if I'm home or not tonight yet to make dinner.
Going to read in bed with a cuppa for awhile
Have a great day all

Morning all, blustery but warm here today, must have poured in the night but the sun is trying to come out. Have a massive wash to do so hope the rain stays away. Off to the supermarket before it gets too busy, have decided not to do a big monthly shop anymore as we seem to spend too much, will just go weekly from now on and see if it makes a difference. Hugs to all in need , have a good weekend all.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Good morning all,
I haven't been on lately as we didn't have an internet provider. I haven't had chance to catch up.
Dd's alopecia is back. Took us all by surprise again. I feel a bit better about it today, just makes you feel helpless as a parent because there is nothing you can do.
On the plus side, we paid up our bank loan, £1584 and i have learnt how to crochet, very very basic though.
RR, hope you have a lovely time.
Nice and bright and sunny here. I think we are due rain though. I have washing to hang out.
Tea tonight is chicken curry with rice.
Hope you all have a good day and hugs to those who need them.
