How much on average does it cost to print out a page?

On my home printer?
The reason I am asking is that I am selling things on Ebay and need to calculate how much it costs to print out a page. I realise that colour printing is more expensive, so if anyone is able to tell me how much it will cost to print out one full page colour photo using Tescos or similar ink, that would be helpful. I cant work it out! All I do know is that some firm had a special offer on for 22p per sheet for printing out flyers. Obviously I already try to mimise the number of pages I do. At the moment the cost of printer ink is my biggest outlay:eek:.
Thanks
Pam

The exact cost varies from printer to printer. Which one do you have and what kind of ink do you use?0

It really depends on how much your printer ink costs, and it should tell you on the ink packet how many pages you should get.
So if the ink cost £20 and it can do 100 pages (check packet)
20 divided by 100 = 0.20 so 20p each. Then add the cost of paper.
HTHCopy from one, it’s plagiarism; copy from two, it’s research.0 -
Hi, thank for getting back to me so quickly. I have an epson stylus SX435W for which I use as cheap an ink as possible. I am currently using Tescos or Asda, around 23 pounds for three coloured and one black, ink but I cant see any info as to how many pages it does on the packs, which I have in front of me. Unless I cant see for looking. The cost of printer ink is a major outlay
, I dont know whether a laser one is cheaper on ink and so ultimately works out more economical. I have looked at the refill kits but it says on the side that Epson Intellidge chipped catridges need an ink level resetter, but so far none of the staff know what that is, and I dont know if I need one! Obviously refilling my own would be the cheapest option.

As above, and it would also come down to how many times the printer was turned off over 100 prints as most printers use ink whenever they are switched on

You may be paying too much for the inks

If you want to look at refillables

Get the set without ink, then look for ink elsewhere

The above stats are interesting, I hadnt realised that it was so complicated! If I leave it switched on and then just go to print periodically for a few sheets, is that cheaper than switching it off then? At the moment it is on but not printing any thing. I dont have any of the printers listed above, I assume they are using manufacturs ink?0

" Will my printer ink last longer if I keep the printer turned off? "
" just the opposite. if you turn the printer off it will do a head cleaning when you turn it back on which wastes a lot of ink. if you leave it off for long periods, the ink in the print head can clot which might destroy your printer completely. you should always leave inkjet printers on. it takes very little power and it keeps the ink from clotting. Thanks, this is turning ot to be very interesting. I really resent the cost of ink!0

InkExpress have refillables for the more common printers, though their ink seems expensive

I use them in an Epson PX800FW and they are fine
I also set the paper to photo quality inkjet and get faster prints than using the premium glossy setting, and the output is identical if the tick for high speed is removed

 Why is the cost of printing a page relevant to selling items on ebay? How do I add a signature?0

Hi, I am always rather nervous with some of the replica ones a I know Epson are a bloody pain in the neck in terms of getting it to recognise the cartridge. One or two reviews for the first link say that it didnt work on their SX435. Its incredibly frustrating.
I could try the refillable ones, I assume they would give a refund if they are not compatible, despite what it says?0
