Crikey, it's like an Episode of All Creatures Great and Small with a bit of Doc Martin thrown in . Hope you're all better tomorrow.

  • Hi Caz, just catching up - sounds like you've been super busy. Hope doggy gets well soon and glad Merlin didn't manage to down too much of his dry feed.
Loving your daily antics, makes me smile!
    Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

    Loan 1 £1787
    Loan 2 £1683
    Total £8601 Was £39302
  • Today's been better :) Jura is back on all four paws (and sulking at the lack of walks), Finn has been started on his ulcer stuff again and Merlin has been happily coating himself in so much mud that I now have two dark brown horses instead of one dark brown (bay is the technical term) and one golden dun!

I've ordered some more flatbacks and they very kindly gave me a 10% discount because that was the offer running in their retail-facing shop, even though I pay much less than their retail prices. Sales this month have been really good, I'm just hoping that the Australian lady I've got a load of stuff in for today checks her email before I do the PayPal transfer in the morning, because an extra £150 on the total would be nice!

Mr Minx had a doctor's appointment this morning and was told that he's not going to get his operation until a) his blood pressure is down and b) a slightly odd blood test result is investigated further. She must have scared him, because the physio has been telling him for months to start swimming and he's done nothing about it, but he was on email to me today from work asking me to check out prices for the local pool! A three month pass for all the facilities (small pool, small gym, jacuzzi and sauna) costs £100, but it's buy one get one free, so £50 each. I got the cash out when I went to the post office at lunch time and then he got home and decided he didn't want to go out again tonight. This may be an uphill struggle... :p

In other health and fitness news, a friend has pointed me in the direction of http://www.nerdfitness.com/ which I think is going to provide me with a lot of interesting reading for the next few nights and if we do get round to getting these passes I'm definitely going to be asking them to show me how to weight lift.

It might have been a really horrible wet afternoon here, but tonight the clouds have blown away, the stars are out and I've spent 20 minutes standing in my back garden marvelling at the Northern Lights :D I failed to get any pictures though, I couldn't be bothered to go back in and wrestle with my tripod, but I'll get it set up and ready tomorrow - we're supposed to be in for a couple of months of good displays.
  • OK, I *could* be bothered to wrestle with my tripod - not bad for a first attempt at photographing them :)

Wow!!!! (Though having looked at the other pics I'm more jealous that you can see puffins :rotfl:)

  • So, today's to-do list had three things on it:
1 - pack and post orders
2 - book on supplier delivery
3 - photograph and list the 4 new items in the delivery

Do you see 'Allow husband to acquire a new horse' anywhere on that list? No, neither do I, but somehow we have a 2 year old Hannoverian x Welsh filly coming to join us at the weekend!

She belongs to a friend who's going through a tough time at the moment and has sensibly decided to downsize her herd of 12. Mr Minx has always liked her ever since he first clapped eyes on her and when he heard that she was up for sale he turned on the pester power. A feral pack of toddlers in a supermarket sweet aisle have NOTHING on him when he wants something! It's taken him two weeks to get me to cave and she's coming on loan with view to buy, so if it doesn't work out we're not committed - and he's paying every single penny of her keep, otherwise I wouldn't have considered it for a second.

In other news, the Australian lady paid up and I banked £405 this morning :D The business account is looking fairly healthy for the end of the month - the scores on the doors tomorrow will be down, but I'll work out some month-end ones as well which should look not too bad.
  • I've been looking through your pics, hope you don't mind - they are amazing and very inspiring. What a lovely place you live in and visit. Very lucky indeed.

Re new addition :D:D:D:D that's all I can say :D
    Debt - CCV £3792

    Loan 1 £1787
    Loan 2 £1683
    Total £8601 Was £39302
  • OK, let's have a go at some scores on the doors...

    Business
    Overdraft: -£-6273.78 / -£7597.93 -£1324.15

    Business total: -£6273.78 / -£7597.93 -£1324.15

    Personal
    Overdraft: -£1086.29 / -£667.38 +£418.91
    Egg card: -£3085.00 / -£3085.00 no change
    Barclaycard: -£2410.00 / -£2410.00 no change
    Nationwide card: -£2570.00 / -£2540.00 +£30.00

    Personal total: -£9151.29 / -£8702.38 +£448.91

    Grand total: -£15,425.07 / -£16,300.31 -£875.24

I'm not unhappy about that and I'll tell you why (gosh, I sound like Simon Cowell...). Since Monday, the business account has made the following payments:

    £16.50 - Terapeak subscription
£36.00 - advert in Make & Sell Jewellery magazine
    £1241.55 - supplier
    £810.00 - VAT
    £1300.00 - payday!

That's £3404.05 in total, so to only be £1324.15 down shows what a storming week I've had takings-wise :D (£2084.90 banked this week!)

Right, monthly personal debt ones. These might not be so nice.

    Debt 30th September 31st October

    Overdraft £1333.56 £1310.38 -£23.18
    Egg card £3150.00 £3085.00 -£65.00
    Barclaycard £2455.00 £2410.00 -£45.00
    Nationwide £2600.00 £2570.00 -£30.00

    Total £9538.56 £9375.38 -£163.18

Better than I thought. I need to speed this up a bit though.
