They've replied saying I definitely don't have this offer available to me. I've replied asking why it's showing as available within my account area then, complete with terms and conditions and the amount available to me.

    This may require A Letter.....

Aw rats :(. Don't give up!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Right, I'm really angry now, they're still insisting I don't have any current account transfer offer available. I have written a letter to the contact address on the statement, with screenshots attached so they can see it's there, asking them to either honour the offer or to 'remove this piece of false advertising from my account before I waste any more time or money trying to take up an offer that doesn't exist.' GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    :D

Actually, I'm quite chuffed that I'm this annoyed about it, a few years ago I'd have shrugged it off, but this will save me about £500 over a year. If I don't get any joy from the letter, I'll throw myself on the mercy of the MSE Credit Cards board and see if they can help. Failing that, it would be Trading Standards I suppose? Or a formal letter of complaint followed by the Ombudsman? I'm not going to let them get away with this one!!

And just to prove I'm not imagining it....(it's come out a bit small, right click and 'View Image' to make it a little larger!)

I think I may have found a new product line :D Not many people selling it, not too expensive to buy in and a decent profit. I've got some test stock on order, should be here in about 3 weeks.

The Truly, Madly, Deeply DVD is now up to £13.50

Not much other news to report. I've been pretty good about knuckling down to work this week. Mr Minx has taken tomorrow off, so no skiving for me tomorrow either :p
  • Scores on doors day:

    (last week/this week/ + or - amount)
    Business
    Overdraft: -£-7155.93 / -£7070.45 +£85.48

    Business total: -£-7155.93 / -£7070.45 +£85.48

    Personal
    Overdraft: -£3531.28 / -£3508.52 +£22.76
    Egg card: -£400.00 / -£400.00 no change
    Barclaycard: -£2655.00 / -£2655.00 no change
    Nationwide card: £2741.85 / £2741.85 no change

    Personal total: -£9328.13 / -£9305.37 +£22.76

    Grand total: -£16,484.06 / -£16,375.82 +£108.24

To be moving in a positive direction at this stage of the month is a very happy thing indeed - and that's after £1200 spent on stock this week :D

My first Nationwide statement generated today and since they don't seem to be charging me interest on the balance transfer fee, I shall just let the direct debit go out on May 20th and not worry about paying it early. I logged into the B-t-w-E card and that current account transfer is still showing as available. They should have received my letter by now, so I shall give them a week to respond and if I haven't heard anything by next Friday and the offer is still showing, I'll try calling their complaints line.

I should get my NatWest statement today or tomorrow as well - this may be sad of me, but I can't wait to see how much the interest has been reduced from having £3k of the croft savings sitting in there temporarily reducing the overdraft. As long as we don't go too mad in Tesco tomorrow, the account will go into credit on Wednesday when Mr Minx's monthly share of the bills goes in.

With 21 hours left to run, the Truly Madly Deeply DVD has reached an astonishing £22.65!!!

Mr Minx is off to Glasgow tomorrow for a couple of days, so I'm going to download one of those 'sell your stuff' apps, get scanning and work out what else is going to be worth listing on eBay! Free listing weekend as well :)

We spent just over £50 in Tesco today, which makes the monthly shopping total just under £250 - VERY low for us, it's normally about £100 more.

I've been very lazy on the selling front - one Joules summer dress (bought second hand off eBay in the first place) and 9 books on writing listed and that's it. Better than nothing I suppose.

Mr Minx has been suffering from an intermittent runny nose for a while and it went absolutely berserk on Thursday evening - we couldn't figure out why until we remembered that we'd had the new sideboard delivered that day and I'd had to move the sofa and CD racks to get it through the living room. I'd hoovered behind them as they were out, but there must have been a load of dust still floating around the living room.

So as he has nose problems in our bedroom as well, I've spent this afternoon dust-busting it from top to bottom. The lampshades have been hoovered out, the top of the wardrobe cleaned...I managed to pull out both chests of drawers from the wall to clean behind them, but couldn't shift the wardrobe unfortunately. The vacuum is full to bursting (oops) and by the time he gets back from Glasgow on Tuesday night any residual dust flying around should have settled. Fingers crossed it helps, as being snuffly doesn't help him get a good night's sleep.

Oh, and the NatWest statement arrived yesterday, interest for this month is £33.15 down from £46-ish the previous month. I'm a little disappointed by that, I'd hoped for less, but the statement runs from the 21st to the 21st and the payment didn't clear in until the 8th. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick though, and if I can keep it in there another month (or even better, Barclaycard honour their current account transfer offer :p) then I should see a real difference.

I'm going to go and be lazy on the sofa with a book now until it's time to feed the horses. The library is coming on Tuesday and I still have 5 books to read out of the 17 I borrowed three weeks ago.

What a day! I banked £570 from PayPal this morning, there's more to come from the weekend's credit card sales, I have another £125 in PayPal already and someone's placed an order for £209 through my shop with a credit card :D

It almost makes up for the weather, which has been VILE. We've had everything from sunshine (briefly) to heavy rain, high winds and hailstorms. I managed to dodge the worst of the rain doing the horses and walking the dog, but the fields are sodden. Still, according to the forecast, this week is the last of it and from Saturday onwards we start to get something resembling the start of summer. It can't come soon enough - last year I stopped feeding hay at the end of March, this year they're still having a couple of slices a day.

The Truly Madly Deeply DVD stayed at £22.65 and the buyer paid about 2 seconds after the auction finished, so that got sent off today. I hope s/he enjoys it :)

That big website order took me nearly an hour to pack up. I won't get the money until Thursday as SagePay had a problem with the file transfer overnight, but at least it's on the way.

I've just realised that since it's the last day of the month I should be doing my monthly scores on the doors, but I'm stuck in the house waiting for the library to call me to say they're here (there's no window that I can see the top of the drive from so they have to phone) and the figures are on the computer in the annexe, so it'll have to wait until tomorrow, unless the library arrives before Mr Minx gets home in which case I'll do them as soon as I've got my books :D
