  • Not so far, but I did manage to give John some homegrown tatties as a very small thank you (I can't bake for him, he can't eat sweet stuff any more or anything with too much fat).

My typing pile is spiralling out of control a bit. Today I've done 45 minutes for NEL and 33 minutes for the market research people, on top of my work for Mr RPC. I've still got the following to be done by the end of the weekend at the latest:

    NEL - 34 minutes
Market research people - 87 minutes with potentially another 90 to come
Journalist #3 - one interview tomorrow evening for overnight turnaround, one coming Friday to do over the weekend, both probably about an hour.
Mr RPC - 50 minutes of phone calls to make notes from plus at least two hours of other stuff plus whatever hits my inbox for him over the next couple of days.

Oh well, it'll keep me out of mischief, as my mother would say ;) and will hopefully pay for some of last night's out-of-hours trip to the vet with a very sorry-looking spaniel, who I trust has now learnt her lesson about eating the otter's leftover seagull...

Woop to scary giant free bits of kit, and boo to recalcitrant hay-barn roofs and insurance policies not playing ball.

I've got an idea of wanting to cut back on the sugary stuff too - is there anywhere in particularly that you found sugar lurking when you looked that took you by surprise? I take it it's just refined sugars you're eliminating? Might take a look at that link for the yoga too...

Yes, the cold meat department at the supermarket!! Almost all prepackaged cold meat, even the Finest ranges, have some sort of sugar added - whether it's brown sugar for caramelisation on the chicken and turkey or dextrose. Roast beef is about the only one that doesn't seem to have something sweet added as a matter of routine. Really weird.

I'm getting through the typing list:

    [STRIKE]NEL - 34 minutes[/STRIKE]
Market research people - 87 minutes with potentially another 90 to come Working on this at the moment, hope to knock 27 off it this afternoon.
Journalist #3 - [STRIKE]one interview tomorrow evening for overnight turnaround, [/STRIKE] one coming Friday to do over the weekend, both probably about an hour.
Mr RPC - 50 minutes of phone calls to make notes from [STRIKE] plus at least two hours of other stuff plus whatever hits my inbox for him over the next couple of days.[/STRIKE]

Last CC payment of the month made, £820 left to go. I've extracted £41 from Quidco, so that's 1/7th of the extra £280 I need to find to do it by the end of February, and I've got a file coming in on Monday night which should be another £40 (I need to calculate, but I think I've earned enough this month that anything extra can be counted as overpayment).

Well I confess I wasn't expecting that answer!! :rotfl: That is indeed weird. Unless it said "honey roast" or similar I'd never have even thought about sweet stuff being added!

Have a look next time you shop, it's horrendous!! I actually emailed Tesco customer services about it once and asked if they could tell me what, out of their extensive range of cold meats, DIDN'T have sugar/dextrose/honey/glucose etc. etc. in it. They came up with a list of six items. SIX!!

Getting there, slowly :) It feels good to be more than half way through the typing, anyway. Pizza in the oven for an early supper and then I need to figure out what I'm going to wear to this party tonight, it not being the warmest of evenings up here!

Getting through it now :D Though I may not be able to move tomorrow after I picked up a heavier shovelful of manure than I thought I had and didn't realise before I'd twisted round to put it in the barrow. Painkillers before bed tonight, I think.

Can't quite believe it, but I actually got all the way through my list for once! Maps, typing and laundry-putting-away all done, starting Monday morning with a clean sheet :)
