Errrr thanks Caz. Yes I see. I think. Haven't a clue about the arcane art of knitting but I'm glad you got it sorted.

I'd forgotten it was my cashback anniversary for the Barclaycard this month, so £79.10 got wiped off the balance when my statement generated today - rounding up the minimum payment so the balance ended in 0 meant £290 paid off in total and took the remaining non-house debt under £2,000
I keep thinking that my bank account is looking horribly low, but I forget that Mr RPC hasn't paid me yet this month - technically he doesn't have to until the end of the month, but he normally does in the first two weeks and I've kind of got used to it being there.0 -
I gently reminded Mr RPC that he hadn't paid me yet this month today and it was in my account five minutes later, bless him
There's a house at the far end of the village that's for sale after its owner died last year, and his daughter came round yesterday and asked if I'd be interested in any of the furniture to put into Ethel's - she'll keep it in the house until I'm ready for it. So I went down there today for a look and agreed to buy an IKEA three-drawer beech chest of drawers, four IKEA beech kitchen chairs, two pine kitchen chairs, one small pine kitchen table (which she was amazed I wanted, because it's pretty wrecked, but I think with a good sand down, some paint and some varnish it might be okay - if it isn't, she only wanted £5 for it, so it can be firewood!) and a bedside light - grand total £45.0 -

It's been an interesting week. Mr Minx has been away, so I've been doing some extra typing (mostly about itching dogs!) and have got work for this weekend as well.
Mr Minx came home with some interesting news - the company he worked for before we moved here want him to go back and head up one of their contracts. The plus side, it's a job that would interest him and challenge him and they're offering to pay him £ASTRONOMICAL, by which I mean nearly three times his current not-small salary plus a generous allowance for travel and sustenance. The minus side, it's based in London and they'd really rather he relocated back down there rather than commute, to the extent that they're prepared to offer £ASTRONOMICAL+£50k+house if he did. He's adamant he doesn't want to move back south though, and we've looked at the weekly commute options which aren't horrendous, so lots of thinking to do about whether the being away from home and a high-stress job are worth that amount of money.
In other news, I've spent the morning going through books, CDs and DVDs, spurred on by a 15% uplift coupon, and now have a nice big pile to be sent off once Mr Minx has checked through to make sure I haven't accidentally picked up any of his - the offer is £133.78 after coupon, so worth doing.
I've also started matched betting and am currently £43 in profit after completing my first three sign-up offers. Two more in progress at the moment and another £1.92 from free slot machine spins on a Black Friday offer. Riches!0 -
End of the month - anyone fancy some scores?
Mr RPC - £630.60
NEL - £140.00
Small agency - £56.50
Journalist #6 - £87.75
Journalist #4 - £168.00
Journalist #5 - £42.75
Total typing - £1,125.60, or better than last month
Other income:
eBay - £82 in sales, less £28.43 in eBay fees, postage and PayPal fees = £53.57
Matched betting £88.15
I'm not counting my decluttering sale yet, because Hermes never collected it. WeBuyBooks has been very helpful, apparently Hermes has nationwide problems with collections at the moment, so they're emailing me some Royal Mail labels to send it through the post office instead.
I'm also decluttering my DSLR camera, or at least downsizing it, and big, big thank you to EssexHebridean, who told me the name of the company she traded her gear with, because they beat everyone else by £60, have the camera I want to trade it for and are collecting mine on MondaySo it's goodbye Canon 50D with enormous heavy 100-400 lens and hello Olympus E-M5 II with little 12-42 pro lens
My mother has the Panasonic Leica 100-400 for micro 4/3rds, which is compatible with the Olympus, so next time I'm visiting I shall be able to try it and see if it's worth saving up for!

Over £26,000 paid off and 95% gone - happy Christmas to me
December is usually a quiet month work-wise, but NEL has sent me 7 hours of audio to get through by January, the market research agency is doing 15 interviews, I've been picking up a bit of short-notice work for Large Agency in the evenings and Mr RPC is still going full tilt, so the invoices should look a bit healthier than last December...
...which is a good thing, because the truck failed its MOT last week and required welding and when I took my car in yesterday for its service and MOT, the power steering went on the way in. Fortunately the truck was still there, so I was able to take that home instead and wasn't stranded in town, but it does mean that the bills for both are going to be heftier than usual. Given they have a combined mileage of over 240,000 and I'm not going to the post office every day any more, it may be time to think about trading them both in for a newer truck.0 -
Hope you're OK, Caz - not blown away by the high winds over Christmas0
