The one thing I would do is make sure both corner cupboards have the bi-fold doors on them and the bottom one gets fitted with one of the carousels that opens the cupboard right up. Which kitchen do you fancy?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Whether we get guests in this year completely depends on the availability of my joiner, who is overstretched. Fingers crossed
The corner cupboard at ground level is mainly going to be hiding the heating manifold behind a false back, so there won't actually be much space in it at all. Bifold doors are a must though.0 -

I'm doing pretty well on the list frontI've come back from Mr RPC's meeting with about six months' worth of full-time work to get through, so hopefully the invoices will look pretty healthy for a while.
A big relief when I logged onto my Barclaycard account - the balance transfer offer on the big card is back. I'm guessing they saw me spend nearly £4,000 in a short space of time (insulation and flooring for the house plus re-booking the holiday) and wanted to make sure I could pay it back. I cleared the balance to zero yesterday and will make the request for transfer on Monday, because the roofers have nearly finished, which is going to be £5,000, I just had to pay the electrician £1,800, and I now have a fitting date for the windows, which is three weeks away and will be another £4,400.Save0 -
Updated my sig. On the plus side, personal debt now paid off has gone into the £24,000 band. On the minus side, thanks to the borrowings for the house, I now have £34,705 on 0% credit cards.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Yesterday I went to the auction mart and swapped £684 for 12 very lovely ewe lambs. They were delivered last night and have spent the last 24 hours mostly asleep, just waking up to eat, drink and explore the field. They particularly like climbing up on the stone dyke walls and jumping off and I think one has sprained an ankle, because she's limping a bit this evening. She ran off down the field handily enough when I went in with my crook to try and catch her and have a look, so I'll leave her in peace overnight and if it's not looking better in the morning, I'll borrow some sheep hurdles from a neighbour and try and pen them up to give her the once-over.0 -

Not yet, but they're not in that field at the moment! It'll take them a while to work through the top one, so he's got a couple of weeks more before I really start nagging
The roofers have finished, that's another £4,408 out of the bank account and another invoice to come from them for the additional works to the chimneys. Good thing an extra couple of hours of transcription work has just come in for next week!0 -
Just seen you've got a blog.
The croft looks fantastic. Bit of a scary CC debt going on, though. Have you completely given up the craft business now?
After helping my cousin with lambing this spring and seeing them grow, we're (well son and I, wife likes looking at them but would put no work in) very tempted to get some of our own but don't really have enough land ... unless our neighbour would rent some to us. I'll just keep reminding myself we cannot really afford to and certainly cannot afford a pony, well not yet.:rotfl:
2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000
