Much as I would love to, (a) they're a sod to cook with unless you know how and I'm not sure holidaymakers will want to learn, (b) it takes up a huge amount of space in a not very large room and (c) it's got a big rusty hole in the side of it!0 -

LOADS of work for Mr RPC today, got lots done and he's giving me more responsibility, which is great
Finished the market research company project and sent that back and have 11 minutes left of a file due back to NEL tomorrow. Market research company is sending me the first interviews of their next project tomorrow and I also have 28 minutes for a new client, who happens to be someone I know from 20 years ago through uni, so she's getting mates' rates, but she's doing a PhD in the subject we both studied, which means it'll be interesting
All of which means I had to turn down a couple of short files on an overnight turnaround from small agency, but I really do have to draw the line somewhere!
Two hours of panel-ripping done on the house, and the reason I'm posting so late is that is that I've spent 40 minutes writing a blog post and putting pictures on Instagram after typing 27 minutes of NEL's file after we got back home. Going to have to be careful I don't burn out...
Very chuffed that blog has earned £1.00 in the last week0 -
Yes lady, be careful you don't as you will be upset if you take ill and can't work or manage the new place. Yeeeeess Mum!

Another day, another dollar, as they say, though it was definitely more out than in, as the solicitor's bill arrived
- and was about half what I was expecting
Honestly, given this has dragged on for seven months, I was reckoning it was going to be £1,500-£2,000, but it's £766!
I shall drop in and pay it tomorrow and leave a large Easter egg for Jane to say thank you!0 -

What a gorgeous picture of Ethel's house. Definitely a big plus for the marketing side of the project.
I've just read the blog post "The jigsaw puzzle" (along with the others) - very interesting.
It reminded me of a phrase I first heard by a poster on one of the diaries, by Mr. Bloater. Namely, "house Tetris". You need to do A, but can't until you finish B, and then C takes over and so on.
Keep us up-to-date about how its going.0 -
Well, I can recommend giving your solicitor an Easter egg
Not only did she sort out getting the second set of keys off the selling solicitor for me (which, in true relaxed Highlands style, were left in the cafe underneath the selling solicitor's office in an envelope with 'TO BE COLLECTED' printed on it - not even my name!), but I got a cheque for £16.44 in the post yesterday after they reconciled my account and found I was due a refund!
Anyway, I've just waved Mr Minx off Manchester-wards for his aunt's 100th birthday party (would have loved to go, but it was all done at the last minute and sorting out an animal sitter for horses, sheep and dog on Easter weekend with 21 days' notice plus a second lot of flights would have added about £400 to the bill). So I've got one of my usual ridiculously ambitious bank holiday lists to work through:- 13 transcription files totalling 6hrs 58 minutes.
- Sheep MOT - dose for worms and liver fluke, apply tick prevention treatment, check feet and dag (clip away fleece around bottom so that if the rich spring grass causes any upset tummies they're not in danger of attracting flies from clumps of droppings tangling in the fleece and getting fly strike, which is a really horrible condition where they end up with maggots in their backsides and can kill them).
- Sort out garden.
- See if I can retrieve the old harrow from new croft field and get it working.
- (Harrow and) roll fields at home and possibly neighbour's fields that I'm allowed to graze if I don't mess up mine.
- Do all laundry and ironing.
- Read all the magazines on the coffee table and recycle.
- Pay credit card bill, work out money shuffle for releasing maximum cash on 0% money transfers.
- Scoff Easter egg
