:rotfl: It has quite the opposite effect, I stroke his back while I read and he goes to sleep!
Have some very boring scores on the doors:
Business
Overdraft: -£-6,970.00 / -£6,850.00 +£120.00
Business total: -£6,970.00 / -£6,850.00 +£120.00
Personal
Halifax card: -£5,370.00 / -£5,370.00 no change
Personal total: -£5,370.00 / -£5,370.00 no change
Grand total: -£12,340.00 / -£12,220.00 +£120.00
It's not been the best week for bead sales really, but perked up a lot last night after I'd booked my deliveries on - I've got another £250-ish in credit card payments on their way as well. Still, my Christmas flatbacks are now on their way after tracking through Hong Kong last night, and hopefully my charm bracelet order will be ready to ship in about 10 days.
Still no Sky dish working - I'd tried to be clever and log a fault with them online, which they responded to in 24 hours, but unfortunately they sent me a text to tell me they'd responded and I've only just received it today, 48 hours later (no mobile signal here and Orange's Signal Boost system is flakey). They say they tried to call as well, but judging from the time of their reply, I was out doing the horses and Mr Minx wasn't home yet.
However, the replacement connector and satellite tracker Mr Minx ordered have arrived today, so he can have one last go at fixing it himself (for huge amounts of Man Points - I swear there's some sort of tally system amongst blokes, I just haven't quite figured it out yet) and if he can't crack it then Sky's message said that an engineer visit and replacement dish would be £65, so not *too* horrendous.

Scores on the doors might be smaller than recently, but it's still going in the right direction. You've made such a huge dent recently, it's really starting to look much healthier now. Is there light at the end of the tunnel yet?
Boo to missed calls and texts, but hooray for man points.I hope he gets it fixed, but Sk* are being a bit rubbish by the sounds of it? £65 isn't too bad but it's taking them quite a while

I think the light will come when I finally get under 10k and I'm not sure that's going to be this year. Depends on how busy Christmas is for the bead shop!
To be fair to Sky, we haven't actually requested an engineer yet. I logged the service request on Tuesday, I think, and they replied on Wednesday. The only slightly rubbish thing they've done is not email me to let me know they'd replied, which I thought would have been a fairly standard thing to do, or even to email the reply, but the rest of the delays are all down to us0 -
Under 10k really will be great. You'll only have about 1/3rd left by that point!

Okay, NOW Sky are being a bit pants - guess when the next available engineer appointment is for my postcode?
Go on.
Have a go.
Bet you're wrong.
Hands up anyone who had Saturday 8th November??????!!!!!!!! Apparently the contract has now been given to a firm in Inverness and they don't come up very often. Will ring round a couple of local options tomorrow. The chap on the phone couldn't have been more apologetic, but amazingly he was from Wick, 45 miles away from here, so he managed to shortcut quite a lot of the script for me and we had the whole thing done and dusted in 10 minutes. We're booked in for the 8th, but I can cancel without charge up to 24 hours beforehand - he did say to ask whoever cancelled it to make sure that the charge was removed from my next bill as well, because the computer system has been playing up a bit recently.0 -
The scores are green and some months that is all any of us can hope for
. Now, when they are green and making a huge impact, we can have more silly, dancing smileys
I'm in awe at how well you've done this year, really kicking its backs1de!
Frustrating re the sky dish too, hopefully DH will be able to fix it before than and he can look rather smug, you get a working sky box and the engineer doesn't have to find his way to your neck of the woods

I think no more dancing bananas until I'm into four figures
It's been the usual Saturday stuff, £84 spent in Tesco, then an afternoon of cleaning the house, picking up in the field and laundry for me (annoyingly, it's chucking it down outside, the weather forecast lied!) and chopping wood for Mr Minx.
I got an email through this evening from the transcription agency looking for someone to do a go-over on a 53 minute file, which I was briefly tempted by, but decided that I'm going to try to keep Saturday as a total day off for as long as possible.0 -
Morning
I do the same for Saturday - even if I have work to do for Monday, I refuse to work on a Saturday!
I've just replaced my pegs for the washing line (apparently they're more fun to play with than garden toys for the children!) so you can guarantee there will be no drying weather in my neck of the woods now.
So, seen as it's Monday and the scores are a long way off....when do you predict 4 figures by?Debt - CCV £3792

I've got the laundry basket placed strategically in the doorway to remind me to get the washing off the line before I go to bed tonight, as otherwise it may be in Lednagullin by the time I get up tomorrow! Powerful pegs you've got there....:D
4 figures, well, I'd love to say the end of the year, but that would be a big, big ask. Probably January or February, realistically, seeing how quiet eBay is at the moment.
Apologies for radio silence on the diary yesterday (what do you mean, you didn't notice??) but Mr Minx's eldest brother was up visiting their mum, so by the time I'd mucked out, gone for a 40 minute run, jumped in the shower, done a 90-mile round-trip to go out for Sunday lunch with them in Wick, come home, got changed, mucked out again and done my proofreading, there really wasn't a lot of time left.
Today has been a similar story, I've proofread almost solidly from 7am to 7pm, only taking breaks for animals, beads and food. The card payments from last week cleared through into my bank account, just need to bank another £1,000 to cover the rest of the VAT, tax bill savings and a bit of cash for me and then I can start allocating money to November.
An interesting development in my stock delivery today. I got an email last week to say that my flatback order had been shipped, so I followed the tracking link and signed up for email notifications on its progress. The one that came through today said 'Delivered - Docklands.' Eh??? So I went and investigated and it was to a totally different name and address in East London, but one I vaguely recognised - sure enough, a few minutes of Googling later, they'd given me a tracking number of four boxes going to the person who's eBay account I did some serious Terapeak work on when I first decided to start selling flatbacks! Interesting to know that they supply her as well, I suspected they might because of the range she stocks, but she's charging more than I do. Time to put prices up after Crimbo maybe?
Anyway, I went back onto AliExpress to find out where my order was and saw they'd struck out that tracking number on my account and uploaded another one for a different courier company, which shows that my boxes are somewhere between Shanghai and Germany at the moment, so fingers crossed they'll be here end of this week or early next.0
