    Hi,

Could you not email O2? Say why your emailing them and also you have gone to the police. You can save emails. Better than a call.

A similar thing happened to us with O2. I phoned them to tell them we didn't know the person who had used our address and was running up his phone bills and not paying them - they told me to get a crime number from the police. (I didn't think I was involved in a crime)

I wrote a letter to O2's Chief executive and posted it thinking that they wouldn't ignore snail mail and I was right. A guy from the CE's office phoned me full of apologies and said he would put a stop to it. I never got another letter addressed to the mystery person after that.

We always open mail addressed to other people at our address. I've never been arrested for it yet :)

A similar thing happened to me.

I resolved this by writing to the Data Controller at the Company to let them know they held incorrect information, and that under the Data Protection Act they needed to correct this. I asked them to treat this a a 'cease processing request' and gave them 10 working days to confirm they had ammended their records. I also threatened to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner if I did not recive this confirmation.

I recieved confirmation, a phone call apology and most importantly no more mail.

    Hope this is of use.
