My 4 year old does ballet, on a weekly basis. Think it's about 30 quid per 6 lessons... or something around that mark.

My 3 year old doesn't do any extra-curricular activities yet.

Our 7 year old DD does swimming lessons which cost £95 per term and choir which is run by the council and is free. Some of her friends do loads more but then she is at after school club 2 evenings a week as I work so I think she would be too tired.

Thinking of putting her name down for brownies/Scouts/Woodcraft next academic year though as she's expressed an interest and I think she would really enjoy it. Just not sure on the logistics or my energy levels at the moment though!

You might find that there is a waiting list for these groups - you could put your daughter's name down and then decide whether to allow her to attend when a place becomes available.

In the meantime, there are some great games on the Brownies website, but you might not want to show them to your daughter in case she mithers too much :)

  • We only have one child and her hobby/activity is her horse. He's kept at livery which is 70 quid a week, plus farrier, worming, insurance, vets, tack, etc. It probably costs an average in total of about 150 quid.

DD has 3 ballet lessons a week which is £22 and Guides which is £30 per term plus the odd £5 here and there for additonal acitivities they do.

She dropped swimming as soon as she could swim properly as she hated it.

DS (5) has weekly swimming (£98 for 14 half hour lessons) and weekly piano (£60 for 10 x 15 min lessons)

He is down for cubs but am not sure whether he'll like it/be able to cope with it. He can't do after school *at* school clubs because he doesn't understand that school can be for something other than lessons.. so as long as they move cubs from the school hall, we'll be fine, lol. (Ds is ASD)

My dd does ballet, tap and disco dancing classes plus brownies. Ds does football and cubs. They have both recently dropped swimming as they were fed up of it but they r both good swimmers so I was glad they dropped it! They have done other activities on and off over the years but these are the ones they currently enjoy, I would never push them into anything

My dd (5) goes to Rainbows on a Wednesday @ £7 pm & Swimming lessons on a Saturday @ £13.33 pm. She desperately wants to do horse riding but I don't think I can afford it unfortunately :(

My 6, 8 and 10 year old do Taekwondo, it costs £100 a month for them to train twice a week. It's everything else that makes it expensive, £25 each for gradings, £30 for clothes, £150 each to go and fight in London next month and now they want the new tracksuit and t shirt at £70 each!

My eldest has been having saxophone lessons at school for the last year which has been free, it will end in a couple of weeks though unfortunately. I know he would love to continue with more lessons but we just can't afford it.
