I'm still waiting for anyone to make a harassment claim against anyone. Must be enough on here to manage one.

There have been 2 behind the scenes - one paid by a debt collector, following Court and one paid by a PPC, out of Court.

If it's like the local NHS hospitals around here, they still think they can issue penalties and fines, it says so on the poorly positioned signs.

One was me, paid me my claimed expenses on LBA. Sent me threatening letters as the registered keeper.

LBA set out my expenses plus at the time £9.50 per hour its now £18 a court will allow for dealing with their crap.

I informed them I would ask the court to award punitive damages for harassment.

I sent the LBA by email and post within one hour of receipt of the email I had an offer to settle.

I had the cash in my account the next day!

Will PM you copies of the emails if you wish!;)

I believe you, it's just reading all the posts saying to claim several hundreds for harrassment, a few pounds for actual expenses incurred seems a let down really.

I think the one involving a PPC amounted to about £100.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

I agree an harassment claim would be difficult to evaluate, it would be a case of convincing a district judge they had no cause to contact you, and that you suffered distress and anxiety due to their actions. Which in itself would be difficult.
Even then I think any award would be pretty minimal, I know people quote Ferguson V British Gas but that was a very complex case, in which Ferguson suffered much distress.

Trisontana is correct it was just under £100 but for 5 first class stamps and about an hours work all told wasn't a bad result! ;)

PS: Plus a victory is always nice.

Which outfit did you wring the money out of?

I know that a chap with the username of articmonkey got £300 + the £25 court fee out of Debt Recovery Plus Ltd after suing them and their principal (Minster Baywatch) for harassment. They didn't try to defend. Nor could they really: they were daft enough to keep sending out demand letters after taking him to court for the charge ticket and having their claim struck out.

I would post up a link to the Pepipoo thread but I'm bashing this out on the Kindle so can't copy and paste.

That sounds more realistic, than advising claiming hundereds on the first letter.
