Best network for use as "number mule" using double PAC
Options
Hi,
I am currently with T-Mobile almost at end of contract. I want to take up great deal on Tesco Phone Shop also on a T-Mobile contract. But I understand I cannot transfer my number between two T-mobile contracts, and I want to try the alternative of transferring my current number that I want to keep to another PAYG provider, and then buy my new phone and contract, and transfer the PAYG number back to the new T-Mobile contract.
Does anyone have any reccomendations for which network would be most painless/cheapest to use as the PAYG "mule" for the number? Is there a minimum amount of credit I need to add to the PAYG phone to make this work?
Cheers for any advice.

I can confirm for anyone else wanting to do this that Giffgaff is a good choice as a "number mule" network.
You can activate your Giffgaff PAYG sim by spending just £5 on their cheapest "goody bag" which is better than the £10 min top up of most other networks.
However the best thing about it is that you can port in and port out very easily via their website, so you dont have to endure the questions of call centre operatives about why you are porting out so soon.
Ported my old number in to Giffgaff from T-Mobile on Friday.
Over the weekend I used up a load of those minutes and text I had bought on Giffgaff on an old unlocked phone.
Ported out from GiffGaff to my new T-Mobile contract on Tuesday.
