it is a new phone but old model, so don't expect too much, however, it is free. 
it is priced at £17.98 including delivery but you also get £10 free calltime so this makes the price u r paying £7.98
but if you go through quidco they are giving you £8 cashback on each purchase so goto quidco.com and type in virgin mobile click on the link to virgin mobile and then click on shop at the top.
click on the nokia 1112 and it should display it for £24.99
all you gotta do is replace this in the toolbar

with this
=5DCE9A76-8B81-41BE-AA75-11227985A0C5
should see the one priced £14.99
go through the checkout and place your order. if you want more just follow the steps through quidco again and they wont limit your order so you can order any amount

u cannot expect send an email and virgin will post a brand new mobile phone to you. if they say so, maybe it is a scam. this one takes a bit effort but money goes from left pocket to right pocket, it is still yours. and u get a free phone. even dial a phone, switch on computer costs money, so no real freebies in the world then?0
