Plea from Animal Sanctuary

Hi I hope you dont mind me posting a link to the plight of an animal sanctuary in Aberdeen who will have to euthanase 300 animals as their funding runs out in July they are selling raffle tickets and cuddly toys to help raise funds and I do hope the kind hearted animal lovers on this site might help. Thanking you shrewdalx http://www.willowsanimals.com/index.htm

The ASSISI here in NI where I volunteer, operate a COAL scheme where they transport dogs from pounds here in NI to animal shelters in England for rehoming,we take about 70 dogs a week to places like Kenilworth DT,in fact,I'm bringing another 20+ over Friday night...Might be something to think about?..(I'm a volunteer & we give up our time willingly to do this unpaid.the thought of not doing it & these dogs being PTS does not bear thinking about...)

best of luck there shrewdal, it's really difficult times right now.

By heck Spike, that's some run. I do runs to non-destruct rescues as a volunteer, but the longest has been 6 hours.

    Much Respect:T

Thankyou so much for this. I dont actually work at the Sanctuary I just read about it in The Daily Record newspaper and it just made me really sad. I would be grateful if you could e-mail kate@willowsanimals.com with this information as this would be a life saver. Thanking you Shrewdalx

I've sent them a few quid, I was impressed when I saw they helped people with mental health difficulties work and interact with the animals. Obviously caring for the animals is important in it's own right but I think they should be applauded for going the extra mile and helping people too.

My son was part of such a scheme at one point, and interacted with horses. He got a lot out of it and his more negative traits lessened whilst he was there.

I hope they manage to continue. Everyone is pretty skint these days but I hope people can still spare something, even a small amount adds up if enough people give.
