    Well the guy just left.
He did say that there was nothing to mayor really just a bit of damp but that's expected with a house this old (over 120 years)
I'll just have to wait untill I hear from the buyers now

    Yeah that's what I thought.
Don't know when we will find out if it's ok.
Does anyone know how long it takes for the buyers to get the report ?

Mine took a little over a week to come back but the Surveyor said they were busy so that's why I did not get it back faster.

If I were a surveyor, I wouldn't want to get into protracted debates with vendors challenging what I'm going to put in my report.

They've always given me some sort of indication.

My last house had damp. Had to reduce the price by about £1k-1.5k I seem to remember (even though the buyer knew it was there. Grrr).

    I did that.

'nothing to worry about' he said.

His report said 'Drain collapsing under conservatory = £5k off'.:(

I split it 50:50 with the buyer.

Not surprising as he didnt want to get into a big argument with you about your drains.

The best thing one can do if you have a buyer's surveyor round is just let them get on with it.

We had one done last week - 3 hours and he was rather unfriendly. At the end I was hurrying him, as I had to get my children from school - I did ask if I had anything o worry about and he just said nothing major and listed a few minor things. He said report for mortgage company wold be done in a few days and the homebuyers report would be ready by today, so buyers should get it early next week. They have been chasing it though, and are hoping it will be faxed through to them today.

Unfortunately our buyers won't start the searches until they have the report so still playing the waiting game.

    Hope ou hear back soon.
