The phone spec looks nice. Why release the phone with an older version of Android 4.0?
By the time phone is released even the new version of Android4.1 will be 4 to 6 months old.0 -

By the time the handset is released it may have a later (but not the latest) SW edition, at the moment that will be the next handset I get :cool:0 -
This is one of the issues with Android based phones, the latest models are changing on a monthly basis.
I'm an iPhone user but experiment with various phones all the time, at the moment I quite like the Samsung Galaxy S3. If the Apple alternative wasn't on the market this is the phone I'd use.
I think as an Android handset this is the best to use, the Samsung's seem to have longer periods between releases compared to their largest Android competitor, HTC.
Not long after release, I bought an HTC Sensation - a couple of months later the HTC Sensation XE (Beats) was released to replace it and then the HTC Sensation XL ... I think now the top HTC handset is the HTC One X.
Regardless of which one you buy, I don't think you'll go wrong - as suggested previously you should visit a shop and compare handsets.0 -

Personally, I try avoiding upgrades a any cost. I have not noticed any significant difference after upgrading my phone from 2.1 to 2.3.3 and regret having done this.0 -
Why be so obsessed with all these updates?
Personally, I try avoiding upgrades a any cost. I have not noticed any significant difference after upgrading my phone from 2.1 to 2.3.3 and regret having done this.
For example the new Android 4.1 have Google Now as well as many other functions, you cannot get this unless update for your phone is available.
Why release a new phone with older version of Android without the upgrade path to current version is beyond me?
Some Android phones cost around £500, I am sure most people expect at least current version. The geek person may find a way around this but most people prefer easy update path.0
