I'm currently switching away from Powergen to npower as their customer service has been a joke. We have been overpaying the account for years and they refuse to reduce our monthly payments. Last year we overpayed by £300, which they eventually refunded to us. Days later we got a letter saying that our payment was too low to cover our usage and so it was going to increase from £54 to £120.... On querying this they agreed to "reduce" it to £66 but absolutely refused to go any lower. This year we have just received a repayment of £450... If you like your money to earn you interest rather than them I wouldn't recommend powergen...

But reading this thread, I haven't checked whether the clubcard points were awarded on the overpayments, maybe there is a positive to this after all!!!

If you want a real joke, go to Scottish Power! In my expreience, Scottish & Southern Electric and EBICO (who use SSE) are the best for customer service.
