selling number plate? is ebay the only option?

Someone (who is not a computer user) has asked me to sell their number plate on ebay because they know that I'm a seller - 2 questions - I've never sold anything like this before, what are the pitfalls for selling number plates? they are hoping for around £4000. Is there another platform to sell number plates?
