And don't camp near any trees or bushes either. Men will pee anywhere there's something to pee against! On the toilets issue, I discovered that the toilets in the music part were flush whilst the toilets in the camping part were the awful ones - worth watching out in case this is commonplace.
Def bring your own supplies, shops near to festivals set their own prices during the event in my experience!
I only did it once camping and you would have to pay me to do it again - we got the dustbowl rather than the mud and when I showered afterwards the water turned red from the amount of dust on mewhich had of course stuck fast because of the sunscreen. Thus the importance of wetwipes

I stand corrected.:rolleyes20

Wouldn't bother with the sandals for the following reasons: the ground is uneven and can be quite stoney, the natives are drunk and every year they cram more people into the place so you may get your toes trodded on, if you go to the loos there is a high chance that hundreds of people will have peed on the grass around them and you really don't want to stand in that with sandals on.
The loos in the campsite and arena are the same, only place that has flush loos is the VIP bit.0 -
Ok I feel a bit more knowledgeable about festival going now, thanks guys and gals. I have compiled a list with you help, here goes:
1 – A tent (big enough for two Plus storage)
2 – An inflatable airbed (come on, you need some comfort)
3 – Double sleeping bag (easier to keep warm with 2 in the bed!)
4 – Lamp for in the tent (but must remember to turn it off before you know what)
5 – That reminds me Toilet roll & plenty of wet wipes (they really are good for many things)
6 – Camping stove, pan, cups, etc (essential for a brew in when you get up)
7 – Tea bags, coffee, powdered milk. (Essential for a brew in when you get up)
8 – Water bottle. (Essential for a brew in when you get up)
9 – Pot noodles, plenty of munchies.
10 – Money. (lots of it)
11 – Wellies, waterproofs warm clothes. (English summer)
12 – Towel. (after you find out your waterproofs aren’t that waterproof)
13 – Sandels, shorts and summer clothes. (English summer)
14 – Sun cream. (nothing worse than a burnt neck)
15 - Camping stools.
16 – Ear plugs. (
17 – A Whizaway and an empty bottle for the tent!! (Don’t want to be off to the loo in the early hours)
18 – A flag for the tent (I presume it will be worse than finding my car in Asda’s carpark)
19 – And some more wet wipes (!!!!!!)
20 – Alcohol.
21 – Some more alcohol.(it’s a long weekend, Friday till Monday!!)
22 – A bigger car to carry everything in!!!!!
23 – Tickets. (that would be a disaster)
I’m sure my list will grow much longer by the time its July and then I’ll have to start knocking things off it else we won’t be able to carry it all!!!
Thanks again, who knows I may see some of you there……

You don't need storage in a tent. Big tent = more opertunities for people to steal from it.All you will need is a smallish tent, sleeping bags & mats. I swear on the power of the travel pillow! a torch which doubles up as a lamp for the tent. 2 jeans & 4 tops. baby wipes & strong deoderant, clean undies. a hat, sun screen & sunglasses. Don't get camping stools- you can use your sleeping bags to sit on at the campsite. Don't get sandels unless you enjoy having your feet trodden on all the time. A camping stove is a waste aswell, you probably will only use it once over the whole weekend. & by the way - sex isn't what many people think about when trying to undress in a tent whilst being worried that everyone outside the tent can see you!4/70 lbs lost £0/£2,358 lostI will lose all of this by the end of 2014 & finally gain a life! :j0
