MSE News: RBS/NatWest crisis engulfs hard-up Think Banking customers

I've just had the following text message from them:
"We're pleased to say that we've now received all of the credits from Saturday 23rd, Tuesday 26th and today from RBS. Due to the large number of transactions, it's taking slightly longer than usual to update your account. We expect the update to be complete by 4pm. Once your account is updated, you'll receive a text from us as usual."
Fingers crossed.
My partner banks with Think Banking and he too got this text message and many more since saying money is now in his bank, he has tried since yesterday afternoon to get the money out but his card is being refused! He has also tried to go onto Think Banking internet but have blocked him!!!!
However he did receive a text saying they have taken out their £15 charge!!!!! What a cheek :mad: He has just phoned to say his card works at Natwest bank but no where else! What it going on! Anyone else having trouble with their cards or internet?0 -
Think Banking landing page:
"The thinkbanking account is a current bank account service held with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group but managed and provided by Think Banking Limited which is not part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group."
I know what they mean but it's not at all clear from those words - they merely use RBS systems on a kind of timeshare arrangement.
To be honest they seem as much a victim of RBS's system meltdown as their customers, but without the immediate financial implications. Doesn't excuse their evidently non-existant customer service of course.Ethical moneysaver0
