Obviously if you are buying a Chanel or Gucci handbag from Hong Kong at cheap prices I am sure they are fake.

But, if you are talking about trainers or mobile phones for example, it is not surprising that you can get a really good bargain from Hong Kong sellers. I have visited there and they have loads and loads of trainers and mobile phones from the shops - authentic dealers (pirates goods are illegal in Hong Kong), the latest model which you have to wait ages before you can get from the UK, and the prices are cheaper too. If you have visited US or Hong Kong, you can see we are sort of being ripped off in the UK. But then the exchange rate of US dollar and HK dollar also explained why they seem so much cheaper than us.

Just be careful and check sellers' feedback, there is dodgy sellers in Hong Kong but there is dodgy sellers in the UK as well. At the same time, I understand why UK ebay sellers are fed up with HK sellers, their endless listings are really taking over the search result, so annoying! Also you have to bear in mind that if the item is dodgy, you have to pay for overseas postage to send it back, while if you bought locally, it is cheaper and easier to get a refund.

sometime's I can't believe how much people want for thing's on ebay, it's ebay it's meant to be cheap isn't it, or has that now been ruined by greedy people,

Sorry that made me laugh... what do you expect people to be good sports and lower their prices hehe!

If you can get the stuff cheaper then fair enough but abercrombie and billabong are hardly expensive brands in the fist place. I doubt buying fakes from Hong Kong is any cheaper than buying fakes from the rest of europe.

Erm.. the reason things cost different prices in differnt countries is because currency is worth differnt amounts..... hence why you pay import duty.

If we didnt pay import duty on USA products... then because all us people from the UK would then start buying from the states, americans couldnt afford to compete with what we could afford to pay for the goods.

    Import duty has to exist.

In some places, there is no import duty nor VAT! I know Hong Kong is one of them, lucky people there.

One of the reasons why buying from HK sellers is cheaper is because most people avoid paying VAT or duty on the items they are importing - usually because the HK sellers are quite happy to under-report the value on the customs declaration form.
