Hiring a Van to Move House...

In my experience it's worth paying the extra for the cover. I drove carefully and sensibly and didn't crash. However, a lady trying to park somehow failed to spot the huge white van already parked on the road and pranged it. She was going to drive off too, then claimed that she didn't need to give me her details as her car was more damaged than my van :rotfl:
I could quite easily have lost my £750 if we'd not managed to stop her, and if we hadn't paid the extra few pounds.
When you pick up the van, give it a very thorough check. Make sure all dents, scuffs etc are noted. Check how much petrol they require you to leave in the vehicle, and how much you start off with. Nothing more annoying than getting an empty van, then reading that it needs to be full on return.
I hope the move goes well.0 -
Mmm...but for an extra £8 a day I can get:-
'For complete peace of mind, our Excess Waiver Insurance provides you with total reimbursement insurance against any physical damage, fire or theft excess charges you may incur during your rental, which can be as high as £750.'
Assuming there are no catches...
Many of the independents also offer that cover.0
