Does the bed have a solid fabricy base or is it a frame with wooden slats
It's an IKEA one, possibly more of a frame...
I wouldn't want to go over any weight lift especially when I'm not really sure how to judge that. Filling a van as much as possible then slowly and carefully driving it over seems to be the best solution to me.
Does anybody have any idea about that excess insurance thing on EasyVan (http://www.easyvan.com/nossl/ExcessReimbursementInsuranceTsAndCs.aspx)? Does it cover me completely?
It seems the link might not work so here is a quotation:-
'For complete peace of mind, our Excess Waiver Insurance provides you with total reimbursement insurance against any physical damage, fire or theft excess charges you may incur during your rental, which can be as high as £750. If you purchase our Excess Waiver Insurance you do NOT need to buy any additional excess protection insurance that the rental supplier may offer you.'0 -
Isn't there an independent hire company near you, as these tend to be cheaper than the big companies.0

Perfect! Thank you! Can you confirm that the Ford Transit LWB on the EasyVan website is the same as this? There seem to be two different models, one priced at £40, one at £75 on the website, both with the same name...0 -

I'm in Glasgow. There seem to be a few but all of them have high excesses. Also, I wonder if it might be better to go with a national company. I have budgeted for £100 to move so it's all within my price range so far!0 -

Haha, the excess cover thing means I can crash it and not pay (assuming it means what I think it means). However, I have no intention of crashing: I shall be slow and steady...0 -

Mmm...but for an extra £8 a day I can get:-
'For complete peace of mind, our Excess Waiver Insurance provides you with total reimbursement insurance against any physical damage, fire or theft excess charges you may incur during your rental, which can be as high as £750.'
Assuming there are no catches...0 -
