I am currently with Vodafone in a two year contract with another year to run but, unfortunately I lost my job lately and need to lower my outgoings obviously so I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice because I have basically got a resounding no from vodafone and I'm basically in the same position. Heeeeeeeeelp!!!!!:(

Is it an expensive handset? If so I think a lot take out the sim and sell the handset use this money to pay the contract and put the sim in an old phone or new cheap one so that you can use the minutes.

Any Vodafone YourPlan (which means any in the last 2 to 2.5 years) will not permit any drops in price until the minimum term is hit.

If you check the bill it will be YP or YPL on the statement.
  • Your right they won't let you downgrade but about a year ago when I had 2 contracts running with Vodafone and experienced a similar problem the women on the phone put a discount of £5 ex VAT on my bill. Better than nothing and as I still had nearly a year left it saved me about £60.

    Hi TMO4,

Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your recent unfortunate change in circumstances. I appreciate that it must be a worrying time.

I am afraid we are unable to lower price plans when you are still in commitment.

One option you do have is if you know anyone willing to take over the contract, we can arrange a transfer of ownership.

If you would like to discuss it in more detail, you can contact me via the address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.

    Kind regards,
