Boiler help..

Anybody any use with boilers?
I've got a Potterton Performa 24 boiler and it's not playing nicely.
The manual says that there are 5 combinations for the lights, but none of them are the combination i've got on mine.
There are 3 lights, burner on, burner failure and power. The power light is on but the burner on light doesn't come on. You can hear the boiler chugging away as though it's working but i've got no heating or hot water.
Normally when you turn the water or heating on you can hear the boiler kick in and the burner on light comes on to show it's heating up but no such luck at the minute.

Hi
So all you have is the power light?

The manual is wrong. The 28kW and above models have the 5 neons you describe.
First thing to do is check the pressure guage and bring it up to 1 bar if necessary. Assuming that power is OK to boiler then you have no choice but to call in a corgi.
These boilers are usually reliable and very easy to work on.0 -
Yep i only have the power light.
when i turn the taps on the pressure guage moves.0 -
Does it work on central heating?0

nope, nothing at all is heating.0

Hi
As EliteHeat says, whats the pressure at?

Well you will need to get an engneer in. He or she will probably check the fan, the air pressure switch, the condensate resevoir (if it is a high efficiency model), PCB, gas valve etc etc.
There really isn't much that you can do for yourself on this one. As it is not working on either heating or hot water, then it is likely to be something fairly fundamental and easy to check / fix0 -
just checked the pressure. 0.5 idle and when i turn the hot water tap on it goes up to 1. It was fine on Thursday.
Could have had it looked at last night but i was going out, best mates husband works for T Jolly and I work for Homeserve so getting it fixed isn't a problem. Strange thing is it's warmer now in the house than it was during the day!!0 -
Hi
Try raising pressure to 1 bar.
Otherwise wait for help!
