Some one told me if you are not a torch bearer or a olympic staff memeber if you touch the torch you can be liable for arrest lol.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

why would people want photos with a "torch barer" unless is was a family member, friend or celebrity ?

I'd quite like my photo taken with a torch bearer but only if they had their torch. Otherwise it's just a picture of me and someone in a white tracksuit.

I only live about 12 miles from the Olympic site so we're one of the last places it travels through, I've still got a month to wait. I'll check out the torch when it comes through my town and will try and get to a changeover point, thanks for the advice.

I think I'm one of the few people who is actually really excited by the Olympics. I've booked a few events which I can't wait to see and I think the atmosphere will be great in London.

I'd have me picture taken with this torch bearer, regardless of him being a stranger.

    What an inspirational hero.

It hits our area the end of this week - hubby's nagging me to take the baby just so we can tell her she's been - my motivation for getting enthusiastic about the Olympics hysteria is somewhere in the negative numbers.

I was going to go to doncaster to see it as it is 10mins away but decided against it as it would be packed. The ex forces guy who ran with the torch on his faule legs what a insperation.

I can't believe the excitement about this, going to all the hassle to watch some random person string out hobbling 200 yards waving some flashy blowtorch in the air. Be still my beating heart! You know they just blow it out every night anyway? all that nonsense about eternal miners lamps in the back of the van.. bloke just digs another torch out the box each morning and lights it up with his Ronson.

The only reason the British are going so mad about the torch relay is its the only sporting event we can't lose at! Nobody made such fuss during the riots, plenty of people running around with lit torches then. They could at least stick some (Ancient Greek) kebab meat around the end and do something useful with all that butane.

    See my post no #23..
I am as cynical and as curmudgeonly old twonk as you can possibly get but i went and had a look and it melted my flinty old heart to see the smiles and joy of the children and their parents. Scouts, girl guides ,kids who had made their own torches...children untouched by the tiresome weight and cynicism of life...let them enjoy it i say...it did me a bit of good to see it too..!
