Do you have anyone that's got your back if things go pear shaped? That might help with your decision ... My parents aren't well off at all but they did loan me £5k once so hoping I could get that again if I really needed to. I also have a massive overdraft limit so feel that's a bit of a safety net.
Good news on the dress profit... Maybe u should become a full time trader, you've got the knack for it :)

Lol - I think Peonie saves, I'm the mortgage overpayer like you!!
:rotfl:Yep I am a saver. If money is earmarked for a rainy day it will not be used for anything else. I do OP a nominal amount and am saving the rest until I hit my sunny day target - which will be in 4 months.

After that I wanted to seriously start OPing. But circumstances changed. Mr P went freelance in January and my wages alone would not cover the bills. So I plan to have a CA mortgage pot and will play the interest rates game.
    Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
    MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000

  • Thanks Girlies,
I think i must have miss wrote it. at the moment i am OPing "winfalls" extra cash that i didnt expect. But also trying to save like peonie, as i amy need the cash. Like laurajo, my parents would be happy to help, but i dont think it fair on them to be asked - i am of the stubbon mind that i am in this mess and i need to get out of it.
if it came to it i could get a massive OD, so not to worried, but want to know i have the pennies there just in case.
i have thought about starting trading, but i am hoping that this amount of time on my hands will only be short term!
I am just setting up an account so soon i will be an internet mortage bunny!!!
another exciting day of reading the papers. wooow! xx

Someone once told me to stick my credit card in a tub of water in the freezer with the thought that by the time it thawed out, u wouldn't want to spend the money! I just thought it would ruin my cc! Although that's prob an even better money saving tip!

I did this with mine after my spending blip in January....... Since then, I sold stuff to make up for what I had spent as I wasn't happy with myself. My old CC has now exp and I have a new one, but I gave it to DH to look after for me.

I'd chop it up but I use it when I'm abroad as I get commission free purchases and a very good exchange rate.
  • I am sooooooo bored though tits untrue. Exciting day as the solicitor came re the no win no fee job, so wee will have to keep it all crossed that i win the claim. Bad news is i appear to have been put in a cast that i can only describe as a caliper - not the most attractive but it seems to be working. the physio did some tests today and got in her senior , she repeated the test - and then looked very worried. tehy then said they needed a doctor to look at it - once the mri is undertaken. ARHGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    rant over.
so, feeling fed up again. but been good and not spent anything today agan. although i do feel life is passing me by. and i am slowly going mad!!!fingers crossed i get mended soon! x
