I thought it wouldnt look quite right in high heels and crutches..... tee hee i might end up breaking my neck!!
OH at work, so i am taking pics to put stuff on ebay again - its getting very addictive. one ball gown didnt sell so going to take it to the local dress agency as i think it may sell better with the local proms coming up.

  • Ebays stuff posted, and a dress returned. Toying with LauraJo's suggestion of sinking savings into the mortage . but then with oh being SEP i worry that if something happens to him - like it has to me we will struggle. Sinking the "extra" bonus cash winfalls into teh mortage , and that is making dent in it.

It's something we've talked about. We still have a big mortgage and OPs cannot be withdrawn. Throwing our savings at the mortgage would make a dent but it would not reduce it enough to make it manageable on one wage. I prefer to have the money in the bank so we could continue normal payments until things looked up. If our mortgage was £20,000 or OPs could be withdrawn then I would consider it.

I guess that whilst interest rates are low and assuming you can save without being tempted to spend (I struggle with his), then saving makes sense... especially if you are able to borrow back the money you have OP'd...
  • Sorry lula , but i am with Peonie on this one. I will keep chipping away at it. I was speaking to my parents today and they said you cant get a loan as cheap - and i agreed , BUT they can see my logic , and like i said to them my goal is to get it down to £130,000 by december - which i belive is quite do able, that will have been £11,000 paid off it in 2 years. then on this basis, to re morgage, i could reduce the term to 20 years instead of the 29 / 28 that it will be on as it stands. this would then allow me to keep the payment the same and in theory still over pay , as i have been looking at rates and they are at 1.79% - so its tempting. i also suppose that saving atm is a waste of time. like i discussed with them, the extra "winfalls" pay the op's , and i am good at saving. Lifes complicated atm, so i need the savings xx

on the plus side, THE DRESS made £20 profit..... yay!!!
    xx
