QR Code generators?

^^^this.
Is it just me who cringes a little upon seeing a signwritten van with bobtheplumber734@hotmail.co.uk proudly emblazoned down the side?
Only marginally more cringeworthy than bob@bob_the-plumber.nf0 -
There are no catches with the vast majority of free QR generators. It is a standard technology and so if you generate a link to the same site using multiple ones of this tools the code generated should look identical.
Its one of those things that hasnt taken off as well as hoped but that isnt to say it wont in the future. Some things are taken instantly to heart and others are slow burn and potentially explode at some time in the future like USB did.
Personally I normally dont scan QR codes with the one exception when half the town over night got covered with knitted/ crotchet sleeves/ animals etc and there were a few QR tags hanging from them - unfortunately it just went to a fairly boring "gorilla knitting" group's website which just do this thing for a laugh0 -
People still use these? wow ok...0

I tend to never scan these things, it's a potential risk when you don't know what the code is going to do... the idea of one on the business card is quite good tho, might steal that for when I get geeky clients! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. People see it, scan it, go 'Ohhhh, now that's a good idea', then want their own and the smarter ones go and get them made up. If you're selling printing/cards services, use it and it'll generate downstream customers.0 -

If you use a sensible barcode scanner app, they will just show you what the code says, and then prompt you for what would you like to do with it? (open URL, add to contacts, google whatever's in the code etc.)0 -

I haven't had business cards for ages, I have a QR code stuck to my notebook that people can scan which gives them all my details.
Anyone who doesn't know what it is or how to use it is automatically filtered :AOne by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

What do you mean "still"? We had a meeting with a recruitment consultant regarding some careers posters we had made and they recommended a QR code.
Turns out nobody in the room or project used them, the majority had never scanned one in their life and had no intention to.
Waste of time IMO.0
